Great little homebrew shop in Boone, NC. I stopped by a few weeks ago while visiting that area.
They have a very nice selection of grain from multiple maltsters. They have dry and liquid yeast, plenty of brewing spices and such, but then there's the hops. I was reading over the hop listings, and saw amarillo, simcoe, citra, sorachi ace (hard to find hops) and asked what was in stock, and the reply was everything. At that time I couldn't find some of these hops anywhere, including west coast online stores. I picked up 4oz of sorachi ace in whole leaf, but they also had it in pellets.
The owners seems really nice and will to help.

Appalachian Home Brewing Supply caters to any homebrewer, from brand new to experienced all-grain.
The owners, Isabel and Gus, are quite knowledgeable homebrewers themselves and are truly dedicated to providing a great experience for anyone who comes into their shop, whether you are there to just look around or with a specific goal in mind. They have an expansive range of grains, yeast, and hops, as well as spices such as coriander, ginger root, and even grains of paradise, all for relatively low prices.
They additionally carry products such as fining agents and a multitude of additives, ranging from water treatment to mash acidification.
If you have a specific recipe in mind they will gladly put together your kit for pickup, and are always willing to discuss recipes if you’ve just been unable to decide on certain aspects.
Or, if you just want to talk about brewing, music, or even life in the high country, they’re willing to chat. Definitely one of the best homebrew suppliers I’ve ever been to.
