S - Banana, juicy fruit, tropical scents.
T - Belgian yeast and malt prevalent, tropical fruits included.
M - Bubbly, somewhat creamy, nice balance and finish.

tell you what this isn’t half bad, quite a nice belgian pale ale, a real delicate sweetness to it, honey, vanilla, pear, orange, lemon, floral, white and brown bread malt flavours, nice belgian yeast flavour, light bitterness on the finish, light body with high levels of carbonation, it’s a neat little beer

Poured from a brown 11.2 oz. bottle. Has a hazy beige color with a12 inch head. Smell is full of fruits, spices. Taste is bananas, spices, yeast, malts, very easy drinking. Feels medium/full bodied in the mouth and overall is a quality beer worth trying.

Highly awarded blonde beer, not quite from Belgium, but close enough!
Looks are quality. Slight hazy blonde body topped by a meaningful creamy head....very inviting.
Aroma is equally good hints of citrus, think of a 'blue moon's' older more grown up brother. Nice orange and spice.
Taste is also worthy of its worlds best acolode. Very fruity at its core, but still a full blown beer at heart. A touch of artificial sweetness going on, but not a spoiler.
Feel is a touch dry due to the sweetener effect.
Overall a very good beer, World's best standard in my opinon no, but as far a blondes go this is top drawer.

Wow, what a crappy picture! It is NOT one of mine, I assure you.
I took a multi-day substitute teaching assignment this week, despite my better judgement. It is usually a case of familiarity breeds contempt as the longer that I am in an unfamiliar classroom, the more the students want to push back. In this instance, it was a pretty low-key assignment with plenty of built-in reading time & one of my local bottle shops is right up the street. I scouted on Thursday & pulled the trigger today, scoring a buncha Belgians, including this one. It may be a Belgie weekend!
From the Bottle: "Belgian Hops"; "The Original Antwerp Ale"; "World Beer Cup Gold Award 2012"; "Serve Cold"; "Swirl Bottle While Pouring".
As to that last, I am sure that they wanted me to get any lees off of the punt & back into suspension, but I was having none of it. I prefer some natural clarity & if it is a possibility, I am pursuing it! I Pop!ped the cap & began a nice, slow, gentle C-Line pour into the awaiting glass. I kept up a steady pour until I noticed that the lees were beginning to move, at which point I backed off & stopped altogether. It continued to foam from within while in the glass, eventually becoming just under two fingers of dense, foamy, rocky, bone-white head with very good retention. Color was a beautiful Golden-Amber (SRM = > 5, < 7) with NE-quality clarity, calling forth The Gelt Gang of Croesus, Midas & Mammon for a 24-karat taste. Nose had the typical Belgian musty yeastiness of old newspapers discovered in the attic, along with a banana-like ester & even a lightly spicy/peppery quality. Hmm. I initially thought of yeasty banana bread, but that is an imprecise analogy. Still, it smelled more interesting than most Belgian Pale Ales. Mouthfeel was solid, a lightly carbonated chunk of a presence in my mouth & on my tongue. The taste was, once more, imprecisely banana bread. Banana bread is a good starting point, but it had a definite yeastiness to it that gave off a mustiness along with a light spiciness. Banana bread with black pepper & old newspaper? That might be close, but it does not convey any sense of tastiness/drinkability. I found it to be quite pleasant & quite drinkable. It was undoubtedly aged, but it seemed to have turned out quite pleasantly & I see nothing about not aging it. Finish was semi-dry to dry, largely due to the action of the yeast. I finally got all of the lees off of the punt so in an instance of "waste not, want not", I poured the remainder. Well, it was certainly a glass of mud. The musty banana was stronger while the spiciness remained constant. The taste was not perceptibly different so I think that following their "swirl" directions may not have served me as well. YMMV.

Poured from 11.2oz bottle into glass. Date code is 'L4993 14:00'.
Cloudy, muddy/pale gold colored body. Half finger of white head is persistent. Some pattern of lacing left behind.
Bready malt and lots of yeast esters (cloves and banana), and aspirin in the aroma.
Smooth tasting malt beer with the ester flavors of cloves and banana. Kind of woody at the finish. Very little after taste.
Medium and creamy type mouth feel. Easy to reload.
Tart overall beer but flavors from the yeast and from the malt provide balance. Taste profile is rather short but this is a call to take another sip.
