A mild American Pale Ale brewed to be highly refreshing and drinkable. This gem has a citrusy and fruity hop aroma with light malt notes. (Common is not a reference to the California Common style.)

Lots of flavour for a low(er) ABV beer - and definitely an easy drinking, sessionable pint with enough "west coast" hop elements to keep someone like me interested.

Bottle pours a hazy, light orange with decent white head. Have not yet seen this on tap at visits to brewpub, but lower carbonation level in this bottle (dated Mar 12/13) than expected. Nice and clean hop-forward aroma of citrus fruit with a caramelized malt backbone. Light body and taste with an impressive bitterness in the finish. Lots of white and pink grapefruit, plus other citrus and tropical fruit elements.

Definitely a great Sunday afternoon beer and I wish I'd picked up more of it.

A- Hazy orange colour with a small head which is retained throughout drinking.
S- lots of citrus, but not overly sweet. A refreshing smell.
T- Again, citrus is front and centre but balanced and not overly sweet. Hops are very noticeable but not powerful.
M- smooth, minimal carbonation.

An excellent session ale that would pair well with many foods. I will return to this beer often.

Bottled 3/9/2013 listed at 4.6% ABV

Very hazy orange colour, ring of white head, little bits of lace as well. Smell is very hoppy, citrus fruit, orange, tangerine and grapefruit all present in terms of fruit, a bit of dank resiny pine with just a hint of semi-sweet malt as well. Taste up front is a mix of grainy malt and dry hops, pine and citrus fruit, lots of orange flavour, sweet points mid palate, big drying finish though, honey like aftertaste. Medium drying carbonation, fairly oily and medium bodied. A fine beer this is, very drinkable and super flavourful with a substantial body and low ABV, a nice session beer here.

Thanks to Adam for this bottle
Bottled on Dec 19, 2012. Poured in to Tulip.

A - Medium yellow/orange in colour. Half a finger of cream coloured head formed on the pour and quickly reduced to a few scattered bubbles on the top of the beer.

S - Piney and grassy hop aroma up front with a moderate apparent bitterness. Some sweet bready malts in the background.

T - Piney, earthy and grassy hops up front with a moderate bitterness. Some sweetness and bready/honey flavours are present form the malt bill.

M - Light to medium body. Light carbonation. Lots of sticky hop oils.

On tap at the brewpub, into a pint glass.

Bright orange, good lacing and a retention derived from a white head. Nose is tropical upfront, and some orange-y citrus zest. A bit of pine, with a cereally and grainy malt back drop. Taste gives up most of what's found on the nose, with only a mild citrus and tropical fruit character in the Amarillo vein. Mostly cereals and grains on the palate malt-wise. Mildly bitter finish, medium body and medium carbonation. Not outstanding, but a nice enough hop profile to warrant revisiting this.

Enjoyed on tap at Bellwoods. This is a very hopped(Amarillo and Cascade) lager. Orange body, lots of trace. Another, and a good addition, to the trend of hoppy drinkable lagers. Mouth tingling.. The hop taste is there, its not hop overwhelming. Slight sugary finish.

This is a different beer than the Common Pale Ale that was brewed by Bellwoods previously.

Beer is orange in colour with a moderately-sized white head that dissipates steadily.

Smell is a bit faint. Biscuity malt, light citrus notes and a bit of grass.

Despite the weak smell, this beer has a surprisingly big taste for the low ABV. Citrus and other fruit flavours are present (lemon, a bit of grapefruit, mango), some grass. Moderately bitter. Caramel malt and a bit of a spicy hint. perhaps some rye in the malt bill.

Light bodied, moderately carbonated. Very refreshing.

Overall, a very solid session beer. You could drink a lot of this one.
