Hazy orange colour, a little less than a finger of white head with a little bit of lace. Lots of citrus in the nose, oranges, some sweet buttered bread like malts, more fruity hops, grapefruit comes out as it warms a bit. Taste has lots of orange and graham cracker and honey malts, fairly bitter all the way through, a bit of grapefruit with an orange-malty aftertaste. Medium drying feel, medium bodied, medium-light carbonation. Quite a good beer and the addition of the blood orange was quite nice, however probably not the most memorable offering from them.

Week and a half old bottle my parents brought home from Toronto. From notes.

A - Poured cloudy dark orange with a two finger white head. Good spatterings of lace and a film of retention.

S - Zesty citrus, very complex floral and citric aromas. Hibiscus definitely there.

T - Neat hops. Floral, light malt, orange, orange peel, zesty.

M - Mild carbonation, medium body, nice dry bitterness in the finish.

O/D - An interesting pale ale. The adjuncts definitely have a positive effect on the beer, which on its own, seemed like quite a good pale. Drinkable and complex. Nice.

A big favourite of the Beer4Boobs, on tap at The Rhino. Fresh orange sense aroma. The blood orange flavour comes through beautifully and exudes a tangy orange. Good drinkability. Light orange colour. Top of the line pale, and a clear winner. Worth seeking out.

On tap @ the brewery. Served in a tulip.

A - Cloudy medium orange with a bright glow throughout. A thin layer of off-white head slowly reduced to a a few scattered bubbles.

S - Grapefruit, tangerine, sweet honey.

T - A good bitterness up front. Blood orange, pine, grapefruit, some muskiness. A touch of sweet honey in the background.

M - Light to medium body with some chew. Light carbonation.

It is a bit dark in the bar, but the beer appears orangey-pink in colour, with a small to moderately-sized white head. Head fades steadily, leave some lace.

The blood orange is quite strong in the nose, and is mingled with other citrus fruits. A bit floral. Not a lot else, but quite a nice aroma.

Flavourwise, blood orange again comes through strongly, Lemon and a herbal flavour, presumably from the Simcoe hops. Quite juicy, with a bit of a dry, powdery flavour. Moderately bitter. Wheat adds some crispness, and a bit of bread is present. but the malt plays a supporting role. Good stuff.

Medium bodied, strongly carbonated. Almost too carbonated, but it works.

Overall, very nice. Really enjoyable beer. Another winner.

On draught at the brewpub, into a tulip. A pale ale with blood orange zest and juice added, and hopped with Kohatu hops.

Rose-orange in colour, almost like the colour of grapefruit juice. Unfiltered body, white head with great lacing and light retention. Nose has some citrus, tropical hops, bitter orange-y leanings. Never had a blood orange myself, but I think I'm getting a good bit of that. Taste has more lightly bitter citrus and slight tropical notes. A touch of herbal hops, slight grain and wheat character but pretty citrusy and orange-y throughout. Slight pulpiness to the mouthfeel., so it's pretty full. Light bitterness. Real nice, love the hop profiles Bellwoods puts together.
