500 ml bottle from the brewery into a Erdinger weiss glass.

Very cloudy taupy lemon yellow colour. Three inches of super fine white head. Good lacing. Looks great.

The aroma is strong lemon and grapefruit. The hops totally cover the wheat and yeast smells that must be under there.

The taste matches the aroma. Citrus. Lemon at first with a touch of sweetness then to grapefruit.

A watery feel but with good bit from the carbonation.

I think this should be called an American Wheat Ale rather than a Hefeweiseen. Very hoppy. Like Miami Weiss but better, more flavourful.

A- a really light lemony yellow colour, with a smooth creamy white head. Lemon merangue pie in a glass. Really solid lacing and retention. 4
S- a really full wheat with a slight lemon and a really nice yeast presence, subtle clove, sweet lemon tart, lots of citrus and very inviting. 4
T- a creamy and tart citrus start then showing some minerality. Some light pear and apple crispness. A full finish with some dry grains and lemon. The lemon character is pronounced, maybe some unripe banana and appley notes then a a really full yeast on dry finish 4.25
M - lots of soft carbonation then a nice tartness and dry finish. Easy-drinking and refreshing with a pleasant light wheaty body, which lends a full creamy feel, balanced with a citrus tartness. 4.25
O- not your average laid-back fruity hefe, this brings some strong citrus zing and a flavorful body, unusually pale colour, but a really pleasant and balanced body with some really coll yeasty complexities, excellent for summer. 4

Lightly hazed pale yellow colour, about a finger of white head, light lace. Smell is tropical and quite hoppy, citrus, grapefruit, malt with some wheat, quite fruity with lots of hops leading the way. Wheaty malt with fruity hops, fairly bitter orange and grapefruit, dry citrusy aftertaste. Medium dry carbonation, medium bodied. While this is quite a nice hoppy beer it certainly has little Hefe charachter, still good though.

hazy light orange coloured and lacy. simcoe citrus hop aroma. carbonation above average yet still very drinkable. hop oil residue on aftertaste. A bit mineral water and seltzer flavours. Nothing spectacular, and not the Hopfenweisse mastery, but still a good session ale.

This is a hefeweizen hopped with Simcoe and Amarillo. Could just as readily be labelled an American Pale Wheat, but since the brewer is calling it a hefeweizen, so am I.

Bottled May 1, 2013.

Beer is cloudy golden in colour with a large, snow-white head. Decent retention, good lacing.

Smell contains banana, soapy hop scents, lemon and some other citrus scents. Wheat.

Taste is as advertised: a hoppy hefeweizen. The hops are upfront, lemon and other citrus flavours, somewhat soapy. Banana and wheat. Somewhat bitter. Very refreshing.

Medium bodied, moderate to high carbonation level. Somewhat oily.

Overall, a tasty beer. Very refreshing and perfect for one of the first really nice days of the year. A great summer beer for sure.
