This is a new beer shop that opened a few weeks ago in NoDa. The owner Jason is very friendly and knowledgeable. He has 6 taps of great stuff. Mostly bombers and singles for sale with a limited number of 6 packs. Lots of great choices and some beers you dont see at the larger box stores. Prices are a bit higher than you might find at Total Wine but they do a lot more volume so I can see why. There is a small patio area as well as a sitting area in the front and a bar that can seat maybe 5 or 6. This place has a great neighborhood vibe to it. Lots of great conversation while enjoying a beer. Salud fits right into the neighborhood.

only made it here once during my visit to Charlotte this summer. Fine spot for a wide variety of bottle available both at room temp and cold. Also there is a moderate amount of draft pours for consumption on premises. Owner was friendly and full of general and local beer info. They sell a moderate selection of snacks/salsa/sauces etc. But you go here for the quality BA worthy beer options. Well worth a visit if you are local or visiting. A cool beer boutique in a fun and funky neighborhood. Go and enjoy

Cool little dive on the edge of NoDa. Very small, but has enough room for good craft selection and a small bar with 6 or 8 taps, I think.

Owner was really friendly, even shared a Westbrook Gose that he picked up the week before.

He really seems to know his stuff, and he was really well educated on sours, which I was pleased with.

There is a nice little area to sit near the front.

Overall, when I'm in NoDa, I will stop in.

Salud is a little shop of a style which I've never really experienced until I got to Charlotte where there seemed to be a few. Salud being the coolest of the bunch. It's a little store on the corner of a nondescript little line of storefronts. Stepping inside you're immediately greeted by what I would call a small lounge area. A couple couches and chairs make for a small seating area. Both walls are lined with bottles for sale, lots of local NC stuff along with a shelf unit in the middle of the store. Heading toward the back, the checkout counter is to the left and a small 5-6 seat bar off to the right. It's cozy and loaded with goodies. Like being in a friend's basement for a couple beers. Music is jamming at a level loud enough to hear but quiet enough to speak over. I seem to recall Ghostface...

The owner was tending bar and taking care of the shop while we were visiting. He was ready to talk at the drop of a hat. Cool guy, letting us know what's new, talking about some plans for a possible expansion, and giving us all types of tips on Charleston, SC. There were 6 or 7 people shopping around and drinking when I stopped in and they all seemed to know each other to some degree. 10 taps were pouring, all written on a chalkboard behind the bar, mostly local stuff, but a couple out of state selections as well. Growlers are filled and inexpensive. The service was great, selection very well thought out, and the vibe was right on; comfortable and fun. I can't recommend Salud highly enough.

Has some decent beers on tap and a decent selection of bottles. Some varience as to what is available, but usually a great choice. Some items you can't find elsewhere. Easy light crowd in this area of town. Super friendly staff and owner.

Ownership goes out of their way to make you feel welcomed.

Parking is somewhat tough sometimes, but other than that good place to relax and enjoy a good beer.

Always a great selection on tap. Love that I can get a draft and shop the bottles (can't do that in TX). Great bottle selection. Always friendly service.

Corner of the building behind the Cajun place in NoDa. A neat old brick store front. Looks like the owners are from my neck of the woods, Michigan. Solid mix of local, national and import craft. Sixers and singles. Though you may need to really pick through the coolers to make sure you don't miss something. Or you could just ask the workers, they were helpful and well aware of what was in there. They do seem to get a good bit of hard to find/low volume stuff.

I think they had room for about 8 drafts, they seem to rotate quickly because of the small bar area and nice late hours. Usually some real nice stuff on tap. A chill atmosphere compared to the other more bar like atmospheres in the area. One tv, but mostly it has the sound off and the noise is people talking.

Something that was needed in this part of town I believe. Brawleys-esque. I like it.

The two things that draw me to this particular beer store: location and 8 rotating taps.
They always have superb beers on tap, a lot seasonals. I had Hopslam on draft here a week ago.
Their location, in the NoDa neighborhood of Charlotte, is great for grabbing a beer or two, and then barhopping. There are several bars/restaurants with great draft lists to check out within walking distance.
The store is rather small with a limited selection, but it is very organized and the quality of the selection is great.

For an independent beer shop Salud stands out among others. Their location is obviously an advocate of alcohol appreciation. The owner seems to have a wealth of knowledge regarding various stlyes and has a plethora of advice onto which beer to try next. I am currently drinking the beer that he has suggested to my friend and I and he was spot on with all his suggestions. The beer selection is very comprehensive and thorough as well and interesting. The "bar" is complete with countless empties and beer drinking accroudeme. Also there is a certain manly aspect of being allowed to drink your beer from draught and pick out the beer that your are taking home at the same time. Topped of with a NES system in the front and this is a go to place for Charlotte, NC beer drinkers with an appetite for adventure.

I Love this place!!This is the place real beer drinkers go to drink and hangout. The community table in the middle of the shop allows people of different backgrounds to sit and share stories or discuss beer (which is what usually happens). All in all Salud doesn't get the same commercial exposure as other beer stores in Charlotte but it is by far the best.

Jason, the owner, is a down to earth guy who treats you like a friend from the moment you walk in. He is very knowledgeable about beer and does not act like one of these stuck up self proclaimed beer know it alls. He carries various types of beer that you usually don't see in other stores.

If you like good quality beer, good people, and want to be treated like part of the family go to Salud.

One of the best places in Charlotte to hang out at. Great beer selection and always some beers on tap that no one else has. Always meeting new people and sharing beers with friends. Old school Nintendo with comfortable seating to get your game on. This is 2 times a week stop for me.

The best beer shop in Charlotte, hands down. Friendly, knowledgable, and helpful staff. Taps are constantly rotating and offering unique beers, sometimes multiple times a day - and most of the time they are beers that you won't be able to find anywhere else in the city. Offers indoor and outdoor seating, original nintendo complete with punchout and battletoads. I spend way too much time there.

An absolute staple of the Charlotte and greater NC area beer community, Salud beer shop in NoDa (on North Davidson street; think: Tribeca) - located in the vicinity of gold medal winning NoDa Brewing and Birdsong Brewing, is the perfect place to find a rare selection of delicious beers that have been cared for better than most folks look after their kids.
While it has a very established community of regulars and home to some of Charlottes most prolific beer folks, they are an extremely inviting and pleasant crowd. Don't know much about beer or just trying to get more involved? This is your place - everyone will welcome you and help you choose something perfect for your palate. Check out some of the newly added shelves that feature owner Jason and his buddies most outrageous grabs from all over the country. A grizzled stout veteran with specific tastes? I guarantee you Jason and his staff can find you something dark and angry while you swap beer lore and stories.
The bottom line is this, Charlotte and in turn Asheville have exploded in the last few years and Salud Beer has been their biggest friend and advocate. Do not come to town and miss this gem.

Oh yeah, for you out of towners Salud ships!

Out of all the bottle shops and bars I've visited and frequented over the past couple years Salud is by far my favorite establishment. The employees are extremely friendly and inviting and also knowledgeable about the beer selection. The owner Jason is usually there, a lot of times accompanied by his wife Dairelyn. Both of them are always up beat and have a contagious laughter and positive attitude that makes time spent there that much more enjoyable.

The store has a great bottle selection including everything from american craft, Belgians, and even some more unusual offerings from Italy and the Netherlands among others. Jason is a big admirer of funky and varied brews of the world, so if you are into sours or anything a little different he's your guy. Kegs are available upon request as well as special orders (cases etc.), just ask. There are two or three large coolers full of beer ready to be enjoyed while shopping/hanging out or for the customer who needs a chilled beverage to go. There are also ciders and mead, both cold and warm.

Lastly, there is a nice draft selection of 6 or 8 taps if I'm not mistaken and you'll be hard pressed to find a better line up around town. Prices are reasonable and they serve pours in appropriate glassware for the style, something most of you beer nerds will appreciate.

Overall I think everyone who loves beer, or just wants to try something new should visit Salud at least once. Weather your just visiting Charlotte or call it home, this place is a must see.

What a great place to drink and purchase beer. Jason is very friendly and REALLY knowledgeable. They always have something good and different on draft, and they have couches with 8 bit nintendo to play. Pretty sure I have the high score for Duck Hunt.
