I had a Paid Time Off the other day and was really impressed which made me want to try this so I went and picked one up. Again, I was very pleasantly surprised with what 3 Sheeps has done with a wheat beer. Has a very nice blend of vanilla, chocolate, coffee, and wheat (no maple which the label states it's brewed with) and a nice feel which is thicker than your typical wheat beer. It's an underrated brew just because it has no hype. Luckily the store around the corner has about ten bottles of this and PTO left. I'll be picking more up!

The wheat didn't work for me. Something was just off on the flavor and body.

A: Pours bright dark brown under a frothy 1” light tan foam cap that descends to a thick, clingy film. Produces thin sheets of lace and has signs of legs.
S: Creamy rich chocolate, wheat, alcohol, light roast.
T: Drinks like a big, creamy thick iced chocolate coffee with traces of caramel and alcohol.
F: A real creamy, chewy body with below average carbonation and a mild alcohol warming.
O: A rich desert beer that will appeal to a wide audience.

On tap at Coopers Tavern, upstairs. Quite good, though overly sweet. Didn't quite get the wheat character. Very glad to have tried this, though.

On tap at Brasserie V in Madison, WI. Served in a pint glass 4/8/2015.
A- Dark cola brown, nearly black. Half finger offwhite head, nice thin uniform brown collar, no lacing.
S- Vanilla bean, black coffee. A bit of chocolate sweetness and cocoa bitterness that goes well with the vanilla bean contribution. A little bit of oak but not a ton.
F- Nice burst of vanilla bean flavour mixed in wth cocoa and black coffee. Some milk chocolate, mild toasted malt, a bit of earthy wood on the end. Mild dark fruit sweetness in the middle. Good complexity, no off flavours. On reading the description, I should add that there are no maple flavours to be found, but realistically, I wasn't expecting to find any.
M- Medium body, good carbonation, very nice depth of flavour with a mildly oaky bitterness on the backend along with the raw vanilla bean finish. A sipper in a good way.
O- This is a very good beer and one of the better that 3 Sheeps has put out. Nice vanilla and coffee combination.

Poured from a bomber into a Central Waters snifter. paid $9.99 at the local liquor store for this one. Couldnt pass up on such a strange sounding/style bending beer.
A- pours pitch black. no light showing through. khaki/tan head rose about a 1/4 inch then fell quickly. if i didnt know better, i woudl think its a big imperial stout
s- initial whiff is all coffee then cocoa and a hint of the vanilla. I want to say a little maple syrup there too, but I could be reaching and just reading the label. very complex nose
t- taste follows the nose, except the chocolate is much bigger. coffee fades back to the finish, but has a nice roasted quality at the end. sort of a dark chocolate espresso. very sweet, bordering on cloying, but doesnt quite pass over the point of too much. very tasty, but for some reason i wanted another layer. i dont get any "wheat" quality just because the chocolate and coffee is so bold. Didnt really get much wood quality from the aging either/
m- i think the wheat plays a part in the feel. seems to lend a smooth, lucious feel to it. drinks incredibly smooth, especially for 10% abv, which is nowhere to be found. carbonation is light, but just enough to keep it from feeling too sticky. i like it.
overall, this was a very interesting beer. not at all what i expected. drank more like a big chocolate RIS. In any case, still a tasty beer. I might have to pick up a few more and cellar them to see what some age does. Would seek out again.

Very good beer. Lots of chocolate and coffee. The wheat mixes well with the coffee flavors. This beer features more coffee bitterness than sweet chocolate, but both are there.
