(Served in a tulip glass)
A- The jet black body supports a pale tan cream that boils but last for a good bit.

S- The aroma of green bananas and green young wood grows as the beer opens. There is a mellow chocolate malt finish with a hint of coffee.

T- The mellow chocolate cream malt has a nougat finish with a touch of sweetness and a green banana character that lingers. As the beer warms there is a light tartness that comes through.

M- This beer has medium-light mouthfeel with a fizz that fills the tongue.

O- This has some nice unique chocolate wheat character but the green bananas and young wood are a bit odd, and start to dominate.

This is a pretty good dark ale; not quite as heavy as I was initially expecting it to be, but this was a pleasing surprise. This wasn't overtly complex and actually reminded me of Berghoff Dark.

A: This poured a dark brown black color, not completely opaque when held to light, slight amber glow to edges. Almost no head from the bottle pour; I personally enjoy a nice finger of head with this style of beer.

S: Smelled of caramelized grains, perhaps a slight sweetness, with underlying hops.

T: This beer has a crispness to it that I was not expecting. Sweet up front flavors followed with the roasted grain flavors on the back end, very little hop flavor compared to the smell. Pretty well balanced beer but little depth. This is an everyday beer, good and refreshing.

M: Crisp effervescence of a nice ale; the crispness of the drink tricks me into feeling this is a lighter beer than it is.

O: I would definitely bring a 6-pack of this to a party. I believe beer connoisseurs will appreciate this beer along with your MGD / Miller / Coors friends. Decent craft beer that I believe would appeal to many tastes.

This pours a dark brown/black color with a slight, off-white head. The aroma is slightly robust with burnt starches and molasses. The taste is fairly heavy and complex. There is a lot of roasted flavor mixed with some coffee a slightly bitter hop finish. Pretty decent brew for being a newer brewery.
