Here's another place I can go and let eh wife and my mother go shopping in the neat stores in downtown Ashland. Kids are allowed nealry anywhere. It seems that they beat the law by have the taps elevated above the bar from the ceiling rather than hooked on the bar.
The back deck is the palce to be on a hot day. On Sundays you have to get there early to get a table and hear the local jazz.
I like to start with the Nut Brown, move to the Porter, have their Stout and then head down the hill to the birht place of Rogue ales or go over to the Blacksheep Pub for real British Isles ales on tap.
The food is northwest bistro and most of the time pretty good. They have a wood fired oven so the salmon is really smoky and nice or a pizza is fine. I've also enjoyed the black bean burrito.
Best thing on the deck is the sun shade -- designed to move with the sun and always keep you in the shade.

I thought that there would be more to try here, only five beers to sample. They were decent though. I especially liked the noble stout, pretty damn tasty. Didn't try the food, it looked pretty pricey and I was still in the mood for more beer. Looks like a pretty awesome dinner stop though.

My wife and I stopped here on a vacation trip. The interior of this pub is somewhat unique because we felt like we were sitting in an industrial environment (the brewing equipment and the exposed large heat vents, etc.) at the same time as sitting in a French cafe. (A patio at the rear of the pub was very enticing on this nice Spring day, but we stayed inside.)
We ordered a 6-sampler tray so that we try all of their beers. (It would have been 7 samples, but they were out of their double IPA.) Except for two stouts, none of the other beers were placed into a specific beer style on the beer description menu (one was listed as a Cascadian Dark Ale), so it is difficult so say that the beers are brewed to style. However, the stouts were right on to style, and the other 4 beers were very tasty.
The food menu has some standard pub fare items, but some that were very unique too. All of it sounded delicious. We were very satisfied with our choices.
A group of octogenarians were finishing up their lunch and seemed to be having a good time, so this place appeals to many. This is a quaint-looking community that we would like to explore more, so when we're back in this area again we'll stop here for more beer and food.

This place is really a very nice restaurant that happens to serve very good beer brewed on site. The food is fantastic! The back deck is a divine place to hang while you enjoy all the delicacies and fine ales! If you're in Ashland then Standing Stone is a must! It's right downtown and within close walking distance of everything. Shoot, have a couple pints and stagger right on over to enjoy some Shakespeare at the Elizabethan outdoor theater!

Been here a couple times now, a few years apart. I really like the way this place is set up. Very spacious with a great back patio. Design is quite nice.
Selection wasn't great. I think they only had 5 brews on tap when I was there. The double IPA was the standout and I had a pint of that after finishing the sampler. The two stout variations (one with coffee) were pretty tasty as well.
Service was a touch slow but that could be pretty random. Food was definitely worth it. Always happy when a brewery has vegan options and this one did. I had the vegetarian chili which was excellent. Prices were very reasonable.
Great atmosphere and the beer is enjoyable. Probably your best bet for beer when visiting Ashland.

What a great town for a brewing Co. like this. This place is really pretty impressive for such a small town You can definatly tell that there was no expense spared while building the Standing Stone. So many things were custom built just for this bar. I love the way they brought the lines down for the Tap handles.
We were promptly greeted with a Hello and what can I get ya.
I started with there Dbl IPA and the wifee wanted the coffee stout. Unfourtunatly they didnt have the Stout. So she opted for a pretty tasty Porter. The IPA was good but probably won't stand out in my mind.
FOOD- we were not to hungry , but grabbed the Black Bean Hummis App. I gotta tell ya . It hit the spot. Perfect with beer.
SERVICE - was really pretty good, A very nice gentleman behind the bar especially on a late Sunday evening.
ATMOSPHERE- fantastic size and decor, very a large and has deck with view.
check it out !

Husband and I stopped in to treat ourselves after spending the day racking 2009 and bottling 2008 Thistlecroft Merlot. We were cordially greeted by staff at the door and that was then followed by an attentive bartender. We shared a Nitro Oatmeal Stout (see review) that hit the spot. Jon orginially ordered the black and blue, but since we are on a budget and you have to pay an additional $2 for fries, he downgraded to the Stone Cheeseburger, medium rare. I had the Margherita wood fired pizza. Burger was cooked perfectly, on foccacia, and all accrutrements were fresh and tasty. House made catsup was a joy and made the toasty cocoa in the stout sing. My pizza was tasty, but I forgot to ask for it well done since few in Southern Oregon have figured how to not serve floppy, underdone crust. (I don't blame them, it appears to be a regional flaw.)
Atmosphere works for us. They desire to be a wholesome local establishment that focuses on local ingredients, and sustainable practices. (They just installed a huge bike rack out front for commuting employees and peddling customers.) It looked like there was a kid"'s birthday party going on out back. This is not just another grungy, quirky brewpub. Thank goodness.

Was here back in September, and just now getting around to posting a review. My sister and I stopped in for both lunch and dinner as I moved my niece into school at SOU. Ashland is a beautiful town, and this place had a good atmosphere inside and on the expansive porch out back. Service was competent and friendly, and the food was fabulous. Salmon was perfectly prepared, and my salad was one of the best I've had in years. Nice Oregon wine selection, and a had a few of their brews as well. Unfortunately, the beer didn't match the rest of the experience. The Oktoberfest was nearly undrinkable (maybe the hoppiest Okto ever brewed), and the IPA was so-so at best. Amber was decent.
