Slightly cloudy brown colored beer with a massive tan colored head.
Smells of bananas and chocolate. Very floral smelling. Strong clove scent along with a coriander scent like a Belgian beer. This smells fairly sweet.
Starts out drier than the scent would indicate. Soda crackers and banana with a fainter clove taste. Faint chocolate. Flavor isn't as strong as the smell.
Mouthfeel is good.
Overall a serviceable beer. If you are looking for a low alcohol dunkelweiss this is the beer.

Good beer. One of my favorites in the squatters lineup. One of the best smelling beers that has ever tickled my nose hair.

Doonkelvietzen!!
I'm having a home cooked from scratch spaghetti dinner tonight by myself and thought this could be a good pairing. This beer has been sitting there staring at me every time I open the fridge, it's time to be in the hotseat.
Appearance : pours a giant frothy head at first, but recedes to a finger or so after a minute. The body is caramel/butterscotch with some honey hues. About 60% transparency.
Aroma : Orange peel right off the bat, with raisin, earthy hop, caramel malts, toasted brown sugar. Some walnut as well. Bouquet is weak however, it takes a generous whiff to get the full picture.
Taste : Orange and juicy pear, moving into some darker fruits. It's fairly winter warmer in profile, actually. It wraps up with a slight bubblegum finish, coriander is loud here as well, and a slight burnt alcoholic kick as it waves goodbye. It's easy drinking. I'm not sure what to think of the finish. It's different for sure.
Mouthfeel : fairly light bodied, slight dryness through the middle up to the finish.
Overall : it's not bad, maybe a little impressive, but mostly a marginal dunkelweizen with some fruitful flavors. I'd have it again.

Sampling right now on 1/19/14. Bottle chilled down to 36 degrees F in my beer cooler and poured into a pilsner glass.
Pours a hazy dark amber in color with a very small beige head. Some lacing was seen with each sip. The aroma is of sweet grains, caramel, cloves with a hint of banana even, The taste was pretty much the same with more caramel coming through. No harsh or bitter aftertaste at all. Goes down pretty easy.

Pours a nice clean/clear dark brown color, nice carbonation, small fizzy head which leaves some nice sticky lacing behind. The nose is malty, yeasty, some bananna, clove, and caramel. The taste is malty, slighty yeasty, touch of bananna/clove, lots of caramel. Medium body. A tasty little brew.
