Here at Ray’s Tavern in Green River, Utah and yes, this was about the best brew that they had on tap. Thankfully, it’s from these parts and it’s fine to sip on since it’s quite the session beer.

Part of that also had to with its appeal, as this was quite basic across the board. By far, the best attribute to this was it’s appearance as it was amber, topped off with plenty of foam, and left copious amounts of layered rings behind as each one bled down to the next. Loads of malt, pine, and grapefruit were in the muted nose as the taste had enough caramel and typical, sharp hops for an American Pale Ale. Balanced, full, and easy to drink, this paired decently with the chips and salsa that I had to order with it, since just having a drink here is forbidden.

A bit of nuttiness and burn were in the back as I was glad to have a glass of water handy. Yes, this needed to be washed down but it wasn’t bad and for a day outside in these beautiful parts, this would easily suffice. The floral aftertaste also left me wanting more, and was a fitting end for something that emulated better examples from the left coast.

Damn I think I first had this beer over 20 years ago. Guess I'll get around to writing the review finally. To me, its wild that this thing has won gold twice at GABF. Then again, I say most industry awards are meaningless, so perhaps this tracks.

Pours an amber color. Think SNPA color wise. 2/3" off white head, dense. One of the maltier 4% session strength pale ales out there, at least appearance wise. Hefty Hefty Hefty. WImpy Wimpy Wimpy. The aroma kicks down a light C hop presence (CTZ actually) and a strong crystal malt presence. Munich? Maybe.

Taste is, well, not to beat a dead horse, a pale ale built on maltiness moreso than hoppiness. Brings a hefty amount of bitterness relative to uh, everything, but especially the 4% angle. Its not a bad beer. This beer has remained relatively constant, whereas the evolution of proprietary hops and session beers have made it to where you can give some mega hopped session ipas and shit. I think your uncle would be plenty happy with this beer, and there are times where I can dig on it, but as the weather approaches and exceeds 100 degrees, I start to look for less malty beers. Decent spring/fall stuff I guess.

Lightly hazy classic amber with a short khaki head leaving spongy lacing on the glass.

Toasty graham malt joins a woody pine hop presence that sees its subtle abrasiveness recede into a dry finish of orange pith before a faintly dank exhale.

Had this on 2020-03-18 in Las Vegas. NV from a 12oz canned 2020-02-22

Amber red. Mild aroma. Nice amount of bready malt. Citrus. Light pine. Moderately bitter. Like the flavor. Will have again.

Pretty bland dry pale ale. A bit of an astringent taste despite the low ABV. Overall you should pass on this - maybe a good time to branch out from the Pale Ales if this the only one on the menu...

On tap at the airport in SLC. Cloudy amber, taste of grapefruit tempered by brown sugar. Medium carbonation, overall very good, I’ll seek this out again.

Hazy amber, small stubborn head
Smell is somewhat strong of hoppy grapefruit
Taste is of well balanced hops, not as weak as some "pale ales" but moderately hoppy and malty resulting in a pretty decent brew

A+ on tap at SLC, across from gate C3, try Squatters airport pub and grub - great.
As good a full flavored session ale as I've enjoyed, served all over SLC in bottles and on tap.

a) CLOUDED, suspended amber body with a thin sturdy off-white head that fades slowly and leaves a thick lace on the glass.
s) Like all Squatters leans to floral. blend of floral hops, caramelized malt and pine citrus.
t) The taste is floral and more fruity with lemon and orchard fruit, apples, and bright hops. The malt is english in style in a suitably balanced base. Finish is sweet and floral, but balanced.
f) Crisp and smooth, mid body & carbonation, clean finish. You reach for another.
o) Good for one or for the evening. Perhaps their top beer along with their rye stout and nitro stout.
