Pours a clear brownish color, nice carbonation, nice foamy head, nice lacing afterwards. Scents of malts, slight roasted nuts, and caramel. The taste is nice and sweet/malty, there's a slight nutty tone and a nice caramel after taste. Medium body. Drinkable, not a winter warmer by far, but pretty tasty and you can have a few.

sort of a funny hybrid of styles here. this beer pours a reddish light amber to copper color with a standard inch of white head. aromas of American hops, English malt, and mild mulling spice are present, akin to a spiced American pale ale. the flavor matches that description pretty well, but the spices are thankfully limited, and the hops is the resounding flavor in the finish. its balanced and full bodied, but how can you really have an effective Christmas ale at 4% abv? its a tough question to answer, and in that light, this beer does leave a lot to be desired. why a fairly generic pale ale would make a good holiday offering I don't know, but the beer tastes pretty good despite its seasonal inappropriateness. good carbonation and a smooth feel on a round body, it goes down pretty easy. not a bad beer, but nothing special. the sweetness and the hops clash, and the spice profile is a little out of place. a good one to skip when you visit the brewery, especially if its mid-march and this beer has probably sat around awhile. should tell you something...

Back for 2012. A handsome medium amber color with a very nice head poured from the growler. A nice feature is the aromatic hops and a hint of cloves in the nose.

Just slightly spicy, it's a pleasingly malty concoction. A little hoppy burr gives it a nice edge. You wouldn't exactly call it rich, but it has a satisfying malty sensation and a mouthfilling warmth. Tangy flavor provides some balance, but it's really not sweet, just flavorful. Some slight bitterness and a hint of cinnamon bark. Of the many lower-alcohol brews available in Utah, this is among my favorites.

Back in the day, this was a treat from the supermarket-- Christmas Ale 12-packs in the wood crate. Filled a jug at Utah Brewers Cooperative brewery store in Salt Lake.

Apearance - Pours a dark brick red with a solid 2 finger head that has medium rentention.

Nose- solid citrus hops with dark caramel and faint dark fruit, cherry?

Palate- Lots of flavor hops with just enough bittering power to balance the caramel malt so that it finishes clean. I could have gone for a bit more kick.

Mouthfeel- Medium body and carbonation

Drinkability- Easitly sessionable.

On tap in Park City, Utah. After perusing some of the ratings, this beer seems to be very different to everyone. Maybe the recipe has changed over the years. Anyway, here is my take. Pours a clear copper color with a large foamy white head. The aroma is very nice; full of ripe citrus hops. The taste was balanced between caramel malts and a very rich hoppy goodness. More like a Pale Ale really. Very enjoyable. Soft and yet very flavorful. Very enjoyable. I wish they bottled this.
