Clear amber-copper pour with one and a half finger creamy off white head with nice retention and excellent lacing. Big earthy, malty, citrus hop nose with lots of pine, orange rind and caramel along with hints of biscuit and alcohol. The taste is dominated by herbal, tangy, resiny hops with plenty of bitter orange and a solid caramel malt backbone. Initial bitterness gives way to a candy sweetness that balances it out nicely. The mouthfeel is thick and chewy with a nice sharp, bitter hop bite on the finish. There's a bit of an alcohol burn, but it's pretty well disguised for the most part. Well balanced and very drinkable for a double. Another nice offering from Squatters.

Not a bad beer and is palatable but not to my personal liking. It has a very thick syrupy feel in the mouth. Smell(in a can) was too sweet for me. Taste was not hoppy enough for a double ipa. And lacks bitterness which I like. I would not write it off as a bad beer but I feel it does not live up to traditional double ipa standards. I'll have to try it in a glass to see how it taste on draft.
