This beer pours a clear golden orange color with a small amount of creamy off white head that leaves a substantial amount of lacing on the glass.

On the nose its actually really sweet and extremely citrusy smelling, I don't pick up any hoppyness, its just orangy citric fruit that is solid from start finish.

Flavor wise it has a nice sweet cirtrusy start, then the hops kick in, and it actually finishes on a sweet note. Its not boozy at all and doesnt really layer your tongue like most IPAs do.

Its got just the right amount of carbonation, its on the thin side with a dry finish, definitely exceeded my expectations. Solid brew.

They make some pretty good stuff in Utah,I hate to say it but I am a little surprised by that,no disrespect at all meant to Utah folks.Poured into a tulip glass a deep burnt orange with a large fluffy, sticky white crown that held for a real longtime leaving globs of lace behind.Citrus fruit and caramel malt battle it out in the nose department, light sweet alcohol comes in to play as well.Hefty sweetness on the palate,a tone of caramel going on here, more sugary sweetness until a burst of citric hop comes in the finish.Like way to many American DIPA's this is to sweet but the hops hit pretty good in the finish. The alcohol makes it more sweeter as it warms, its a sipper but not bad at all.

Consumed at pub in SLC airport between flights. Bottle date is smeared but looks like 4/4/11. Consumed 5/18/11.

Pours clear orange with two fingers of light tan head. Head has good retention and leaves a fair amount of lacing behind.

Smell is very malt-forward, mostly caramel. There are also aromas of pine and grapefruit, but these are relatively subtle.

Hops are more apparent in the taste than the smell, but still maybe a bit too much caramel malt for my tastes in a DIPA. Still, it seems to work pretty well in this case. While the bitterness is tame, it has a nice juicy citrus taste that is enjoyable. Finishes dry with some lingering bitterness.

Medium bodies and slightly sticky. Finishes with a bit of resiny bitterness.

Not exactly typical of the style, but works well in it's own way. I would have again.

12 oz can. Pours hazy reddish gold with a medium creamy off white head that retains well and laces the glass.

The aroma is very sweet and sugary slightly rotten fruit with some caramel malt and resiny hops.

The flavor is sweet sugary crystal malts, funky tropical fruit and some resiny hops. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with smooth carbonation.

Overall, odd combination of sweet sugary crystal malt, funky fruit and some resiny hops.

12oz brown with a freshness date.

LOOK: Massive sticky head takes a long time to subside, orange amber color shows some haze

SMELL: Grassy, oily resin, slightly catty, orange pith, evergreen, exotic fruit, biscuity, hint of yeast

TASTE: Hop resin, leafy, dried grass, orange rind, piney, faint tobacco, bitter middle, caramel, toasted grain, yeast, Asian pears, mango, warming alcoholic esters, bitter drying finish

Hard to pick out the 9%abv at first, well round with an assertive bitterness but not to the point of being a palate killer. Hopheads should check this one out at least once. Good drinking.

Nice looking in the glass; just less than clear amber gold with a nice frothy head that stuck around. I got a good malt hop aroma, a little piney, with just a hint of alcohol. More alchohol on the tongue. Tastes ok; has a lingering finish, maybe slight apricot. Lotsa alch coming through toward the end and perhaps some musty notes.

This is a decent beer, not too exciting but definitely exhibiting some authority. Very slick label!

Got a 12 oz bottle of this as an extra in a trade with Wasatch. Thanks John!
A: Light orange with a nice head that leaves a thin blanket on top of the beer for the duration.
S: Malty nose, some hops are there, but malt sweetness and a little alchohol seem to be more prevalent than hops.
T: This is a very well balanced DIPA. Definitely not a hop bomb, but they don't all have to be. Some alchohol heat in the finish.
M: Nice mouthfeel with some prickliness from the carbonation. Medium bodied.
D: 9% alchohol is evident. Finish is quite dry.
I could definitely have more than one of these, but not too many more.
If you like well balanced DIPAs that are not overly citrusy, this one may be the beer for you. Quite enjoyable!

Review No. 2,300.

The beer pours an orange color with a white head. The aroma has a lot of hop notes to it as expected. I get a lot of papaya and pineapple, but there are also some bitter oranges and a little bit of resiny pine. The flavor is similar. In addition to the pineapple and papaya notes, I get some caramel malt. However, the malt is fairly subtle and the bitterness is pretty high but not overwhelming. The flavor is very juicy and the tropical fruit really stands out. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Very easy to drink.

Nutty biscuit nose with some citrus. Pours bright orange with a slight haze under a yellow tinted 1” white head that dissipates fairly quickly. The palate begins with biscuit, a hint of nuts, fruit – orange and then melon followed by a hint of lemon ending with a citrusy bitter finish that lingers. Medium carbonation and body with a finish tending towards dry. 9% alcohol not very noticeable.

Drinking this head-to-head with Deschutes Fresh Squeezed IPA and Firestone Walker Double Jack. Of the three, this is the most "earthy" ... It's more malty than the Deschutes, but not as well balanced as the Firestone. It has a malty, melon aroma and a very full mouthfeel. Not a IIPA that I would want to drink every day, but on occasion, this is a very interesting flavor!

Thanks for sharing Nathan!

Golden orange, amber, and copper with a pillowy nearly white head. Lined lacing down the glass. Pretty.

Pine, caramel, toffee, and alcohol round out the aroma. I miss the pungent citrus I find in my favorite DIPAs, and this one seems a bit too sweet and burning with alcohol, though there is nothing bad or unpleasant. Above average.

The flavor consists of pine, toffee sweetness, and alcohol, and a moderate to high level of bitterness throughout.

Thin to medium bodied with a definite alcohol presence.

A barely above average DIPA. Not one I will seek out again.
