A ~ Pours a Coppered Amber w/ great clarity & sparse sticky lacing. Looks less than Intimidating for a 9% IIPA, but hey, maybe they just filter the shit out of their beer.
S ~ Rich, Sweet Malt notes with sticky, but faded hop notes. Pine & Citrus mostly. I can tell this once had an amazing nose. But right now it's underwhelming.
T ~ Citrusy hops following through w/ strong dried apricot/peach notes & sweet sweet yet clean maltyness that reminds of raw cane sugar. Pulling dryness from the hops, even at it's age.
M ~ Easy going down w/ an extremely sticky mouthfeel that I come to expect & enjoy in a IIPA. Dry.
D ~ Would definitely drink again, but Hopefully fresher next time. Great beer for the price.

Thanks to a tuba player named Dan for this one!
A double IPA not from CA? My bias already sets in. Beer poured gently into a pint glass. Head is bone white, dissipating into a halo circling the inside of the glass. The color is an orangish amber, very clean. Smell is somewhat lackluster. It does remind me of hopslam minus the honey sweet. No immediate dry hop dank smell like the IPA's I'm usually craving. It's def not bad, just not impressive. There's a mixture of malt, alcohol and a light bitterness as I gulp it down. Def more malt fwd vs a west coast DIPA. It's pretty much what I expect, which isn't bad...I'm just an entitled beer need whose been spoiled by the wild Wild West. Cheers!
