Poured into a tulip glass. Appearance is translucent, dark copper with a faint, 1/2 finger white head that quickly dissipates.
The smell is caramel with grapefruity hops and a slight hint of marshmallow...didn't expect that. Taste is toasty caramel and bitter, grapefruit and pine hops. Balanced, but the flavors are rather subtle. Mouthfeel is slightly more carbonated than I expected; medium-bodied.
Drinkable DIPA, but not that memorable with the exception of the faint marshmallow scent. Goes great with cheddar cheese.

Not a bad beer and is palatable but not to my personal liking. It has a very thick syrupy feel in the mouth. Smell(in a can) was too sweet for me. Taste was not hoppy enough for a double ipa. And lacks bitterness which I like. I would not write it off as a bad beer but I feel it does not live up to traditional double ipa standards. I'll have to try it in a glass to see how it taste on draft.
