Poured from bottle into Mason Jar. Orangish Red, 7/10 clarity, Smell: lively hop, honey and burned malt. Taste: hops are upfront and alcohol kicks in as it sits. I had a can previously and for some reason the bottle tastes better. The can's date was close to expiration (maybe this was a difference). Too much alcohol for me. I like the black and white picture label with khaki background better than the color one in the picture.

Fun label photo of a bearded farmer spearing a giant hop cone with a long pitchfork.

Enjoy by 11/10/14. Possibly three and a half months old.

Poured from the 12 oz. bottle into a Tree House tulip pint.

a: Clear amber with a finger thick white head which receded to patchy surface foam and dense lacing.

s: Pretty strong citrus and resin.

t: Citrus and resin up front over a medium biscuit malt base, followed quickly by a sharp hop bite, bitterness at the back of the mouth and alcohol throat burn. Bitterness and burn linger at the back of the mouth and throat. High ABV is covered except for the throat burn.

m; Medium with strong carbonation tingle.

o; A pretty high octane DIPA all the way, yet surprisingly easy drinking. As the bottle label says, "A mighty hop-lover's dream." Feels even hoppier than the 72 IBUs. Bought one bottle at the Westford Craft Beer Cellar because I had not seen it before and it was only $2, good price for a DIPA, especially one this good.

Bottle reviewed last night with Best By: 11/15/14. Also consumed at the Squatters Pub in SLC in July, both times it tasted just about the same.

A- Fairly cleared out golden pour from the bottle to a snifter. A small white cap to under a finger with frothy consistency. Decent head retention and mostly just spotty lace.

S- Hops are the bulk but plenty of grains in the backdrop. Intense grapefruit, dried pineapple, pine and spicy hops. Pale caramel and fresh cracked grains.

T- Aggressive citrus peels like grapefruit and orange with resionous pine hop notes coming in with an edge. Quite malty for modern standards but the hops are aggressive enough to make it work.

MF- Medium to thick bodied overall consistency with a creamy and foamy texture. Carbonation falls at a fairly high level with a mediumly high bitter finish.

A malty example of a Double IPA but it reminds me a bit of Swamp Head 101010 because it works while displaying those grains.
