Pretty strong IPA that tastes like grapefruit. I'm still getting into craft beer and craft beers specifically, so I'm sure that this beer isn't nearly as potent as I'm making it sound. (185 characters)

Appearance: Interesting for an IPA. Murky straw colored with lots of carbonation but little head retention. No lacing to speak of. If I didn't know any better I'd say this was either a witbier or a saison. Bonus points for originality

Aroma: Citrus and a yeasty wet hay smell. If I didn't know any better I'd say this was a witbier or a saison...

Taste: So I think this may be a witbier afterall. There's a light citrus profile and a wheaty twang. Some spice like pepper on the finish. There's not much else to it. Honestly tastes somewhat shandyish

Mouthfeel: Very crisp. Pretty refreshing. Tingly from the citrus and spice. Clean. Watery

Overall: Not for me. Granted it's something new (to me at least) so I will give them credit for not making another average IPA. Unfortunately this brew is below average in my book (823 characters)

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a footed tulip.

A: Hay colored hue. Pours a 1 finger, dry, bubbly, white head. Lots of rising effervescence. Disintegrates slowly. Pretty nice beer ring lacing.

S: Sourdough bread, with lemon, coriander, and grapefruit.

T: Light bready flavor. Seltzer water, and little bit of lemon pith.

M: Kind of shallow and over carbonated.

D: Session style.

Atmosphere is pretty good. Loose dry head, lots of effervescence, and some solid lacing. Nose is sourdough with some fruit and spice. Light and shallow bready characteristics with a hint of citrus zest. Overall, this is an okay quaff. (619 characters)

Slightly chill hazed gold with a massive white colored head.

Smells strongly of northwestern style hops. Smells strongly of pine. Little bit of soda cracker malt scent but it is mostly hops.

Starts out far sweeter than I expected. Fairly sweet with a flavor of pine needles and some woodiness.

Mouthfeel is good.

Overall it is an OK beer if White IPA is your thing. (369 characters)

From a can:

Big head billows up in the glass, perhaps Ishould have just drank from the can. Oh well, head settles nicely, rocky and sticky to about 2 fingers.

Very light bodied. Straw color. Dare I say "ghostlike"? A bit hazy. Head is really nice now

Aroma is light on the hops, and has really not much else. Hint of esters here and there.

Very light taste. The hops are not IPA level and provide small doses of florals. Malt backbone is fragile and light. Esters in the nose do not come through in the flavor. This is a very light IPA, and I wouldn't even call it an IPA. Nice dryness on the end, but it's a rather boring beer. (636 characters)

Ghostrider White IPA pours a hazy, yellow-straw color and is capped with a good amount of white foam. Light aromas of wheat and sweetness, very light. As the name implies, this brew lands somewhere between and IPA and Belgian Wit. The wheat and pale malts open up the palate to a finish of peppery hops and a touch of lemon. Moderate carbonation and a medium body round out this interesting brew. (396 characters)

Medium sized big bubbly head slowly settles above a pale straw golden colored beer that is pretty cloudy with a whole lot of small particles suspended throughout.

Citrus and fresh mowed grass like hops styles with a bit of malt grain trying to sneak in there.

A carbonated fizzy tasting beer with a bit of hops keeping it slightly bitter with a bit of the citrus aspects the aroma held.

A slight dryish aftertaste without much taste on this lighter bodied beer.

Similar to Hopside Down in the fact that the aroma is much bolder than the taste. (547 characters)

12 oz bottle was poured into a pint glass.

Appearance: This beer poured a one finger head that reduced to a thin layer and left some nice lacing on the glass. It is a hazy golden straw yellow with some clarity and bubbles coming up through the glass.

Smell: Sweet and bready malts with some citrusy hops in there.

Taste: Not sure what's up here. Very bready and chewy with faint citrus hops. The beer kind of tastes like citrus grits.

Mouthfeel: Chewy, a bit smooth, low carbonation, refreshing, and light to medium bodied.

Overall: Not sure of this is supposed to be a white IPA or a try on one. Impressed that it was bottled a few weeks ago, but not too impressed when drinking this as my after gym beer. (711 characters)

had I not enjoyed so many wonderful white ipas over the past year or so, I may have rated this one more favorably. instead, this one gets average marks. it pours a hazy pale yellow color, almost totally flat. the nose lacks any of the hops intensity one would typically associate with an india pale ale, and the wheat malt seems watery and a little stale. the flavor is also deficient of hops that at best this can be called an American wheat, not a white ipa. there is some funny coriander flavor in there too, and a cleaner-like essence which comes out of nowhere. its still refreshing and not all that bad, but it just doesn't fit the ipa category at all, and so I have to be a little harsh with it. the carbonation was well short of where it needs to be, and the body is a stagnant lighter medium as a result. this one is well conceived, but needs a lot more work to become something that I would buy again. (911 characters)

Pours a nice cloudy white/yellow color, nice carbonation, nice one-finger white head, with some nice sticky lacing left behind. The nose is malty, with some yeast notes, and slightly hoppy, wheaty, with some coriander. The taste is mostly malty/yeasty, with some hop notes. Medium body, the finish is dry and bitter. Overall a tasty brew, but most likely will not buy again. (374 characters)

12 oz bottle. Pours hazy bright yellow with a medium rocky white head that retains well and leaves a little lacing.

The aroma is sweet perfumey spices and fruit.

The flavor is sweet bready malt with a lot of citric fruit and spicy floral hops with decent bitterness. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with lively carbonation.

Overall, a decent fruity spiced IPA. (364 characters)

Reviewed in North End Boston over linguine. Not exactly a beer mecca so was surprised to find.
Poured from a bottle into an iced glass. Hazy, relatively dense in appearance but mouth feel is lighter than it looks. Fruity to the nose and light on palate, but a good amount of complexity to save from being insipid. Would drink again but more as an interesting accompaniment to food rather than for its own sake. (417 characters)

Appearance: cloudy yellow, sunny, with a bright white head of two fingers. Lots of spongy lace.

Aroma: wheat, flowers, citrus, bread crust, spices.

Taste: low bitterness, fruity hops, citrus, flowery, grassy, biscuity, light sweetness.

Mouthfeel: medium body, lower carbonation.

Overall: not a shining example of a white ipa, but its not bad at all. (353 characters)

Poured from a brown 12 oz. bottle. Has a golden/whitish color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is mild, some hops and spice. Taste is good. Hops, citrus, coriander, smooth and easy drinking. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is a solid beer. (247 characters)

look: 3.25 | smell: 4.5 | taste: 3.25 | feel: 3.5 | overall: 3.5

Appearance: Poured a cloudy, dull yellow with an airy, tall head which dissipated rather quickly.

Smell: Citrus hops along with a very sweet, fruity aroma - peach, apricot, ect.

Taste: The beginning rises into the citrus hops; the middle carries the most of the bitterness from the hops, but there wasn't enough of this; the end finished with the peachy sweet flavoring.

Mouthfeel: Carbonation was strong upfront, but carried through well; smooth enough.

Overall: This one was decent, I was expecting a slight bit more bitterness versus fruitiness. (554 characters)

Pours out a hazy gold with a rocky head. Smells like a slightly hoppy wit: crackery grains and citrus. This really is a tasty witbier, but I'm not getting much IPA. Tastefully done in regards to spicing. Nice crisp, dry malt body. Hops are not in the forefront. Quite a bit of fruity esters. Mouthfeel is light and lively. Solid witbier, but lacking as a white IPA. (365 characters)

Bright orange with an off-white head that breaks down slowly, leaving cumulus clouds of froth in its wake. Smells of malt, lemon, orange and faint, resinous hops. More citrus (coriander, orange) flows into a slightly bitter end and some grain and peel are noticed later. Lighter in body and dry and is gone before you know it.

Not that much IPA to this one, but tastes good nonetheless. (391 characters)

Poured from 12oz bottle into a pint glass.

Appearance: murky light-yellow hue with a strong effervescence and three-plus fingers of frothy white foam. The head seems to have quite a lot of tenacity; I like it.

Smell: sweet malt with a lightly fruity, lightly floral hop aroma. Whimsical, yet alluring.

Taste: lightly sweet malt with some fruity character up front. This develops into a more floral flavor, although the hop bitterness is harsher than I would expect based on the rest of this beer's character. It is decent, but it doesn't entice me as much as the aroma.

Mouthfeel: medium body with a good level of well-integrated carbonation. Quite creamy and satisfying.

Overall: this is a decent and drinkable white IPA. I think the flavor could be smoothed out a bit, but it's still a good-drinkin' beer. (812 characters)

12 oz bottle
A: Poured into a pint sized beer mug. Very little head. A very light amber color with lots of particulate in it since it is unfiltered.

S: A nice smell. Bready, citrusy. Malt as the background.

T: Very light for a unfiltered craft brew. Same notes in the taste as the smell. No hint of alcohol. Well balanced.

M: Once again very smooth and light. No giant note sticks out. Quite a bit of carbonation. Well balanced. Nice clean finish.

A nice, well balanced, light tasting brew. I would say this beer is an excellent beer to use to introduce adjunct lager drinker into the realm of craft brewing. Also a great session beer for craftys. (653 characters)

A-Cloudy yellow. Decent head. Body glows lightly.

S-Interesting. A bit musty. Light, crackery malt. Fruity yeast. Lighter hops bring some tropical fruitiness.

T-Quite similar to the nose. Fruity yeast and some pale maltiness. Subtle hoppiness which brings soft citrus and a hint of grass.

M-Light, crisp and it drinks easy.

O/D-A neat brew. Would like to see some more muscle here in the flavor but I enjoyed my sample. (423 characters)

Pours a truly ridiculous, frothy white head of large-ish sized bubbles that fizzes loudly and collapses into an open celled froth sticky with resin, clinging to the sides of the glass. A bright citrus hop aroma with a touch of a soapy back to it (maybe the spices?). Hazy, yellow-straw color is reminiscent of a Wit. Starts piney with notes of grapefruit and citrus rind, builds to a medium bitterness, and then a SMOOTH, RICH malt back flies out of nowhere. The finish is a lingering bitterness on top of that smooth malt. As it sits on the palate, and the hop bitterness recedes, a nice coriander flavor starts to creep out from the malt.

Overall, this is my first White IPA. I was hesitant about the style, but it's similar to a Belgo-IPA (just more malt-centric, so it's pretty awesome. I LOVE Hoppy Wheats, so this is a great style for me. The Wit aspect maybe makes for a bit of an odd-ball in terms of clashing profiles/flavors, but it works well enough in the sense of coriander and citrus hops. (1,004 characters)

12oz can, a random selection from the King Soopers across from my hotel in Denver last week.

This beer pours a cloudy, medium whitish yellow hue, with three fingers of puffy, rocky and frothy bone-white head, which leaves some stellar and consistent webbed lace around the glass as it slowly drops away. Now that is a 'white' IPA.

It smells of bitter, and slightly dank pine needles, peppy orange and white grapefruit rind, somewhat astringent yeast, crackery, doughy pale malt, and further muddled leafy and tropical fruit hop notes. The taste is gritty, grainy pale malt, orange juice pulp, leafy pine resin, sedated yeast, a bit of mixed and matched antipodean fruit, and a certain wet, almost flinty leafiness.

The carbonation is fairly laid-back, just a fizzy tic here and there, the body a decent medium weight, and well smooth, with a growing creaminess as it warms. It finishes a bit on the sweet side, the malt and inherent fruitiness of the hops starting to strangle out the bitterness from the same.

A pleasant version of the style, one which puts more effort into its looks (and succeeds wildly), than in insisting that yeast be front and center. The result is a tasty, softened sort of IPA, one I could see indulging in multiple rounds, the next time I have fresh squirrel to BBQ. (1,301 characters)

Citrus is the best way to describe this beer. Drank this one from the bottle and upon opening the first thing you smell is citrus trailed by a hint of hops. The beer tastes just as it smells...citusy. The taste over all was pleasant and i enjoyed it. The mouth feel of this beer was very very carbonated. Over all I really liked this beer and believe it to be a great example of a white IPA. (391 characters)
