spanish cask ale, several local catalan beers on tap, PLUS mikkeler, weihenstephan, moor, leikeim, and other british beers (siren?)
also surprisingly good veggie tapas (1.80 per piece) including a corn fritter topped with avocado that was a lot like a rustic fried masa cake and fried cheese
very friendly people, knowledgable
a bit hard to find but worth the trek
affiliated with nearby mosquito which was excellent for dim sum (serves straight through the afternoon which is helpful if you find yourself a bit off of bcn eating schedules)

This is a super chill boutique of a beer place, a short walk from a super touristy part of Barcelona..Its a small thin place with the bar up front and seating for eating in an equally small area in the rear....we popped in here for a few brews after checking out the Picasso museum...expect about 10-12 quality drafts, IPA, NEIPA and assorted other tasty options from craft Breweries in Spain, Germany and a few other places...also Vegan food including burgers that looked tasty, but we did not eat here...friendly service, bar snacks available..we tried some delicious chips and Guac/salsa...well worth a visit when you find yourself in this area

Not to be confused with Ale-Hop which is a gift shop not at all related to beer, Ale & Hop is a cool little tap-room & restaurant tucked away in the gothic district near the Arc de Triomf.

It's a small place with a narrow bar and tables in the back. It's a fairly interesting space to look at: the floor is wood, the bar top is zinc, there are exposed brick walls and massive beams, and black & white comix on the walls.

There are 8 beers on tap and 2 casks, as well as a cooler full of bottles with 3 small doors and 6 shelves each. I can't figure out how many beers there are in bottle but a lot of them are Belgian and American whereas the taps come from all over: Belgium, America, England, Spain (usually 1 or 2 locals), Czechoslovakia, etc. - whatever's good at the time. They also fill growlers.

I can't speak for the food beyond a vegan burger for 5.75€ which was awesome. If everyplace could make vegan food this good there would be a few more vegans out there!

Hard to find, but worth the effort. 3 IPAs to choose from, all with something different to offer. Favorite was Moor Hoppiness.

Did not try food.

Bar guys were very friendly and helpful, they got me the local Hoptimista Ale, which was good. There's a range of tap and bottle beers, local and foreign. I was all about exploring local pale ales, but my wife, who likes geuze, wasn't very much satisfied. Overall the atmosphere in the bar was very relaxing and nice, I recommend this place to any hop lover!

I like it because is very central, the food is good and always have a great selection of shooter. The decor and atmosphere are good, it is a place for youth and for beer lovers. I recommend a visit and specially I recommend a brunch at Sundays, they have a lot of vegeterian dishes

Barcelona has a very weak craft beer scene. But this is a place that knows what it is doing. Possibly the best spot in town. Small tap selection of 7 accompanied by a very good bottles selection. High marks for a small spot making great strides. Tapas are always a good accompaniment. It also helps to hear the bartenders know what they are drinking and explain it to the eager locals.

Stopped in here last night on a trip to Barcelona. Walking into the place I was immediately struck the quaintness and overall atmosphere of the place. Certainly off the main roads, this bar seems like a local hangout for those seeking the best beers Barcelona has to offer as well as a place to create lasting Friendships. The selection was great, featuring local specialties as well as brews from Belgium, USA, and Germany. Our lineup consisted of a Cantillon Kriek, Pannepot grand riserva, de dolle special riserva, and several locals. While the selection is not over the top it's quality was noticeable, and one seems justified in assuming that it is constantly evolving based on the Barcelona beer market. The food was great, all vegan and definitely better than most tapas spots in Barcelona. Finally, the owners were two of the nicest guys I met on my travels. They play a big part in the operation of the bar and are more than willing To assist you or to have a taste with you as well. If you ever find yourself in Barcelona and you are put off by the thought of drinking San Miguel and eating over priced and unhealthy food, head to ale & hop for a great time with great people and great libations!
