This is a great pub/alehouse/tap room in downtown Santa Rosa. Just a few blocks from other beer places like Russian River, Third Street Aleworks, etc., is is notable is the primary pub in Santa Rosa for a variety of different craft beers. It has the largest number in town (c. 40 beers on tap), and has a range of craft beers, mostly local or semi-local from Sonoma County and the Bay Area. It generally does not have Santa Rosa beers on tap (like Russian River), but then thered be no point in that since the others nearby have all those. It does have a great selection of other regional craft beers, many otherwise impossible to find in Sonoma County except possibly at Taps in Petaluma. I'd note that for a large range of craft beers, this is the place to go. Santa Rosa's other great beer places are either brewpubs of their own (Russian River, Third Street), serve one specific brewery (Moonlight beer at Flavor) or more focused on cask and British or Belgian beer (Toad iin the Hole - although that's also a top place to go for a range of craft beers and it only lacks the sheer volume of this place).

The place itself is not very interesting and is a bit small, but it's comfortable and enjoyable.

Service seems to be very good and attentive.

Food is straightforward but burgers, fries, chicken wings, etc., are all excellent.

The above fields need clarifying. The quality of what specifically? The beer or? Selection of what? Beer, food, cigars? Value of beer, food, or? I've been doing brew reviews for over 30 years. In this case, the quality of the beer is great for 20 of the 40 taps. The rest are nothing special. This selection of beer for Santa Rosa is the best downtown, the food is mediocre. The happy hour is excellent, M-F 3-6 PM $3.50 pints. This place is still new, so it may improve foodwise. Otherwise, go around the corner to Mr. Hofbrau to eat!
