I hit the jackpot by getting to try this today at the brewery.
Served in a Solemn Oath taster.
A: Poured black and silky, with ever the slightest few bubbles posing as a head.
S: The reviewer who called German chocolate cake on this one wasn't kidding. Substantial smell of chocolate milk, truffle dust, and almonds.
T: Awesome taste with the same profile as the nose, only more intense, and with an added smokey, beef jerky quality on the end to let you know that this is indeed a porter.
M: Perfect carbonation bill and tempered sweetness. The lacing wasn't much…… maybe just a slight gelatinous film left on the glass.
O: Sadly, I don't think they are going to make this again. I kinda got that impression. Additionally, no growler fills either. If you find this one available on tap, consider yourself one lucky mofo!

Appearance is a deep dark brown with some light passage at the edges. Some lacing left behind. Aroma is heavy on cacao nibs, notes of roasted malts, light cream notes, and not much coconut. Cherries add a nice depth to the brew and add a bit of balance to the robust chocolate notes. Taste is chocolatey with a hint of cherry sweetness in the background. Dry clean finish. Mouthfeel is medium with moderate carbonation. A solid stout, not getting coconut but getting plenty of chocolate.

From their site:
"A porter made in collaboration with Cleetus Friedman of Fountainhead. A take on Black Forest and German chocolate cake with a glass of milk. Mick Klug tart cherries, toasted coconut, coconut water, and milk sugar added to the brew. Cocoa nibs added to the fermenter. Big, full-flavored, full-bodied, and complex, with layers of roasty and fruity goodness from the aroma all the way through to the finish."
Overall a delicious and complex porter.
