Smell actually reminded me a bit of an old ale. Raisins, malt, barley, slight hops, coffee and semi-sweet chocolate. Taste was dominated by the malt/barley combo, not as nuanced as smell. Feel was creamy

22oz bottle, 2013 vintage, 8% abv
A - towering and persistent light brown head atop a black colored ale
S - roasted barley, dark chocolate, coffee, sweet malts, raisin
T - loads of dark chocolate, roasted barley, anise, raisin, coffee, prominent & bitter piny hops with grapefruit rind in the background
M - fuller body, moderate but nearly overcarbonated, finishes with lingering roast and pine
O - This is very good! The dark chocolate notes make this rich, delicious, and balanced while not being overly boozy at 8%. Given it's price point, I'm not sure that I'll buy it again, but its quality made it worth the try.
