Poured from tap to clear plastic cup at Oath Day 2 party
Appearance grade is pretty raw based on serving method. Color was a ruby brown. Interesting red tinge to the beer.
Coffee aroma with the hops was fabulous. Not too over-powering. Not going to say it was balanced, but both aromas were present.
Flavor was not what I'd associate as typical for IIPA. Heavy malt character, almost sweet. Hops and coffee are present but take a back seat here. You can still tell it's an IPA, but getting close to a Strong Ale? Still a very enjoyable mix of components.
Mouthfeel is nice, medium-high, not sticky but a bit chewy. Easy drinker for a higher alcohol, higher bodied beer.
I really like the beer. It may not really meet all the typical criteria for IIPA, but very enjoyable.
Serving type: on-tap
