22oz bomber poured into a snifter.

A- Nice DIPA look. A cloudy oranger/ amber with a half fingers worth of off-white head which fades to the side of the glass.

S- Citrus, acidic, with some pine notes as well. Lots of orange and mango on the smell primarily.

T- Initially comes some citrusy hops with some caramel malt. The hops carry to the back of the taste with orange and mango continuing.

M- Medium bodied, well carbonated, bitter with dry finish. Nice and refreshing also.

Another nice DIPA from Solemn Oath. They definitely do hops well.

Beautiful Baltic amber pour with about an aggressive one inch whitish head. Foam recedes to wisps on top and scant lacing.

Huge wafts of melon especially honeydew. Fruity bubblegum. Resiny pine and caramelized sugars. This is really something special.

Hop driven grapefruit pith then resinous pine and then lays the light caramel malt. Nicely layered for the purists pleasure. After smacking the lips, a DIPA dankness is evident.

Medium mouthfeel. Prickly carbonation aid to sensationalize the bitters on the tongue. Abv toasted just right as this all lingers well into the cranium.

Winner winner chicken dinner! I had to stand up an applause such a well done craft. Truly a pleasure to spend time with and a wonderful neighbor to have. Another great DIPA in the Chicagoland area. Let the hits keep ona rollin'. Tremendously tremendous!!!

Ooooohhh I like this one. Probably my favorite offering from Solemn Oath yet. The beer poured a orange/copper clear with froathy white head that left a lace. The scent was pungent with pine and citrus. The taste was a very nice balance between sweeter malt and a nice piney citrus. There was also than nice oily resin that give the beer a nice body. The mouthfeel was full body with smooth carbonation. Overall it is a great beer....nice job SOB!

Clear and deep golden orange. Minimal head with active carbonation.

I love the aroma. Heavy on the pineapple and mango. Sweet malt.

Tropical fruit, bubble gum, and toasty.

Really clean mouthfeel. Prickly carbonation. Dry and bitter finish.

Definitely my favorite from SO to date. They're really starting to grow on me.

Sun yellow and slightly cloudy in appearance.

Slight citrus notes, spices, and bitterness from the hops.

Taste is very hop forward and slight spiced. I don't usually enjoy spiced IPAs bit this one ain't so bad.

Mouthfeel is very carbonated and does not have a strong booze appearance though it has an 8.5% abv.

Overall a modest showing from a growing brewery, not their greatest option, but they've got plenty of great brews and it is nice being within a half drive.

I tried this on tap at Quencher's Saloon in Chicago. $6 for a 10oz serving, served in a brandy snifter.

The beer poured an orange/rust color with a 1-finger white head that seemed to last forever. It also left a good amount of lacing.

Huge hop nose, and when I say huge, I mean huge. I didn't know whether to drink it or clean the floor with it - it was that piny.

The smell didn't lie - this was an overpowering hop bomb. While there is some caramel malt sweetness underneath, the pine and grapefdruit hops dominate everything. There's a whopping 115 IBU's worth of bitterness in here too. Too much of a good thing if you ask me.

Thick, creamy, and full bodied, with higher than average carbonation, which keeps the hops dancing around on your tongue.

Too one dimensional for me, but if you're a hop hound, you have to give this one a try.

Had this at the Naperville Ale Fest and it was the first time trying anything by SOB for me. A 3oz dark amber pour with about a one finger off white head. A very citrusy (grapefruit/orange) aroma with hints of pine tree. The taste follows the aroma but also has a caramel sweetness poking in and out as you sip this.

Appearance: Pours with a finger and a half of clean white head. The color with a bright orange with a murky body. Rings of lacing left behind at each level. Active carbonation is extremely low for the style.

Smell: Caramelized sugars pop out on the front with accents of grapefruit, caramel, and saturated citrus. Some lighter tropical fruits shine through on the body with heavy accents of bubblegum sweetness.

Taste: The front is caramelized sugars that follows the aroma very closely. Potent grapefruits with some slight vegetal tones are the highlight of the front. Caramel sweetness with accents of tropical fruits linger into the body. The finish somewhat bland with some pine bitterness and heavy saturated fruits.

Mouthfeel: Syrupy texture with evident throughout due to the lower carbonation.

Overall: Pretty decent DIPA but doesn't really have any areas it blows the drinker away. Always nice to support a local brewery and having it turn out to be a decent brew is always nice too.

L: light Amber, white head that dissipates to a thin layer
S: cereal and caramel dominate, some pine hops but not nearly what I'm expecting from a DIPA
T: again, caramel sugar and cereal dominate, pine hops are stronger than the nose, but not strong enough. Malty sweetness in the mid palate and bitterness in the finish and linger.
F: medium body from the sugars.
O: too caramely/malty for me on a DIPA.

A solid effort, but too sweet and caramel-y for my taste.

Pours a reddish orange with a thin white head. Funky hop with quite a bit of candies citrus smell. Funk hop, with citrus burst with quite a bit of balance for a double imperial. The resin hangs around for a while and tastes boozy. A little onion coming with the funk. Goes down quite smoothly with the expected DIPA burn in the end, due to nice Carmel and malt. A pretty solid DIPA.

Decent gold see-through color. No clouds. Not much lacing and a little less carbonation than your run of the mill DIPA. Almost no head, that was gone in a minute.

Lots of acidic caramel or molasses on the nose. Reminds me of GI Pierre Jacques.

Tastes much juicer than the smell, with some spice. I can't place the flavor, maybe it's like a really heavy Akari Shogun. Finishes pretty bitter.

Feels more carbonated than it looked and 10 minutes later I can still tell I drank it.

Overall just not my thing. Caramel malty DIPAs aren't my favorite, but this'd be good to try if you like 'em

22oz bottle
A - amber colored body with a creamy ivory head that holds great retention
S - juicy and fruity nose with citrus, pine, and tropical notes with some sweet caramel
T big, assertive bitterness coupled with sweet malt and juicy hops: grapefruit, mandarin orange, pineapple, mango, pine, light caramel, some breadiness
M - medium-full body, a bit resinous with some sticky hop oils coating the palate
O - really nice DIPA. Glad I tried it!
