Nice amber color, slightly hazy and a ring of thin lacing.
Nice light lactic cherry smell with hints of lemon grass and barnyard smell, not overpowering but very complex.
Taste is a nice light lactic sour cherry which evolves to a dry barnyard funk and very dry finish. The sourness is not overwhelming and makes a very enjoyable complex beer.
Mouthfeel was good with a nice dry finish and ample carbonation.
Overall a solid AWA with a great lactic cherry and barnyard flavors, very complex.

Aroma: slight hints of oak, but generally a subtle cherry and lactic (by that I mean slightly sour, but no acetic/vinegar hints) aroma...smells like a room full of sour beer barrels.

Appearance: red to amber hue, with lighter edges on the beer. White, tight bubbles on the head, with a small one-finger's amount of lacing in small taster glassware.

Flavor: wow...a subtle sweetness leads to an oak laden flavor on the sides and back of the tongue of a balanced sourness. You don't blink at the sour flavor, but take it in stride and really, just wow.

Mouthfeel: slightly thin on the mouthfeel, but a draw of breath over the beer coats the mouth with intense flavors of barrel-aged beer. Well-balanced, complex, unique.

Overall Impression: a 3 oz tasting pour at Firestone Walker's From the Barrel was nice, looking forward to enjoying this beer in a bottle format...
