I visit this brewery at least once a year, sometimes two, every time I come home to visit.

The atmosphere here is unrefined. You have a good mix of people from many different walks of life. Since it is in Kearny Mesa/Clairemont, in a business district, and not near any neighborhoods, you have many people dropping in after work wearing dress clothes and industrial outfits. The mix of the crowd is unmatched, the drinking area is spacious, clean, and of course industrial looking.

The quality of their offerings and the selection of their beer they normally have available is also unmatched.

They either have a food truck outside, or they have a food tent. I did not have any food during this last visit, but they normally have unique and flavorful food available.

World class beer, an outstanding selection, and an excellent atmosphere makes this one of the best breweries in San Diego.

In SD for a stopover on the way to Hawaii. May as well stop at a brewery.

Big space for a new brewery. Room to grow here, and they already have in 2 years. Bar at the right as you walk in, brewing facility straight ahead, seating to the left. Probably seats upwards of 70 plus a nice outside patio. Place is a bit tricky to find as it's not right off the main road...tucked away a bit.

Beers were nice with 5 IPAs (a tad much, but hey, it's San Diego!) a saison, mild, barrel aged, Belgian strong, and a couple of others. Solid beers.

Nice service on a busy day. And they're expanding keg accounts up to SF

I visited on Sunday, June 8th 2014.

Large, pleasantly decorated tasting room. 11 beers available along with growlers, t-shirts, and all the usual merch.

The beers: Societe does not offer flights and limits each customer to two tastings at a time. There were four of us, so we were able to sample 8 beers at once, but this policy would make it difficult to do side by side tastings if you went on your own or with one other person.

All of their beers were good, but none of them blew me away. In fact, everyone in our group had a different favorite- no single standout.

My trunk is full of empty growlers and I wanted to get a growler fill, but they only fill their own growlers, or blank swingtops (stainless, brown glass, or ceramic). I would have bought one of theirs, but they charge the outrageous price of $25 for an empty growler! This price is the same for stainless or glass. I went to many breweries while visiting San Diego, and this is twice what any other brewery was charging for a new growler. Admittedly, stainless steel growlers are always expensive, but charging the same price for glass swing-tops is ridiculous.
