Poured from a 12 ounce bottle into a Shaker pint glass.

APPEARANCE: pours an orange/yellow color with less than one finger off-white head that dissipated quickly leaving a ring of bubbles around the glass, lighter carbonation and almost no lacing present on the glass.

SMELL: bread, vanilla, sweet malt, subtle and not overpowering.

TASTE: initially sweet caramel malt, then subtle vanilla and bread, this beer has a mild hop profile and is very malt forward.

PALATE: creamy, lightly carbonated with lighter body, finishes clean.

OVERALL: this is something different for Anheuser-Busch, this beer was my third favorite of the Brewmaster's Project Twelve Second edition. This is not my favorite style of beer so would not seek out again but not a bad beer for the style. Glad to see this brewer trying new things.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a 14 oz "pint" glass. Pours orange yellow with very little white head. Smells of cereal grain with slight sour grape. Tastes of cereal grain with fruit and slight vanilla. Beer is heavily carbonated, light bodied, very refreshing. Overall, a slightly above average beer.

look: 2.75 | smell: 3.25 | taste: 3 | feel: 3 | overall: 2

Appearance - thin head, orangey/amber pour.

Aroma - has a doughy breadiness, perhaps denoting a higher grain bill? After a moment of set up, some vanilla notes come out - light, extract/artificial in nature or at the least very diluted. Still, I like vanilla, so it is a pleasant smell to me.

Taste - I'm thinking back to Michelob's winter bourbon cask ale I had years ago, and wondering if they just recycled the recipe using a lager yeast and renamed it. Maybe. This has a light vanilla sweetness, perhaps some bourbon/oak character, it is hard to tell. A bit of nuttiness as it warms. It does have a glimmer of hope with some different flavors, but not enough of any one worth going into detail over.

Mouthfeel - proper lager body and carbonation.

Overall - so many tastier options, why mess around with this? Well, maybe if you find some on the 50¢ shelf...

Pours a clear, copper color. 1/3 inch head of a white color. Slight retention and slight lacing. Smells of vanilla, adjunct, pale malt, slight sweet malt, and a hint of hop. Fits the style of an American Pale Lager. Mouth feel is sharp and clean, with an average carbonation level. Tastes of adjunct, metallic notes, vanilla, pale malt, hint of sweet malt, and a hint of caramel malt. Overall, the adjunct and vanilla are dominant in both body and aroma, the beer is average at best. I do not recommend this brew.
