Reviewing this to fullfill a requirement for the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly BIF. This is the beer I sent as an ugly, and I had to suffer through it to be able to send it.

Pours an extremely pale yellow, looks like colored water. White head with fairly small bubbles that subsides fairly quickly.

Smell is citrusy, with hints of lime.

Taste is more of the lime, perhaps a hint of the agave / tequila flavor, but not enough to stand out.

Mouthfeel is watery, no body at all.

Finish is mostly like drinking limeade, little dry in the throat and a hint of an artificial sweetner in the aftertaste.

I might have liked this back in the days when I experimented with wine coolers and malternatives long ago, but it doesn't do much for me now. I don't even think it is that particularly refreshing.

This is a horrible excuse for a beer. It poured a clear straw color with a very small head that faded almost instantly. The smell was of lime and grain. The taste was pretty much identical to the lime flavored fruit loops cerial. No decernable hop or malt characteristics, just sweet nastyness. One of the worst beers I've ever had.

Tequiza: the official beer of president Clinton!!

This beer is about was bad as it gets. reaking odor, horrible taste. Ah yes this beer brings back so many memories of me and my friend threatening to make truck drivers drink the stuff as revenge for poor driving. the mouth instantly tells you "this is not drinkable, and if you override your mouth, your stomach will tell you also. is this a want to be corona? just when we thought corona was bad, and nothing could be worse than rock bottom, it seems like anheiser bush dug under and found a way to go lower than rock bottom. Real beers don't taste so bad they need fruit to mask the taste, therefore drink up president Clinton and don't switch Tequiza for our Sam Adams. beer with a shot of tequila, that's one of the worst ideas I have ever heard, yes this beer is horrible horrible.

Damn, is this soda? Looks like it, smells like it … oh wait, it tastes like bud light and lime with some other odd flavourings as well. I had a few sips and dumped the rest out; I think A-B would have been better off brewing a lager and lime. Don’t even bother with this one.

Really, really pale yellow, virtually no head, no lacing. Smells like lime, and of cheap flowery perfume. This almost tastes more watery than water, it does have a hint of some corn and lime, but it's not good. Higher carbonation, very light body. One is definitely enough. I recommend you get yourself a water, and put a lime in there yourself, it will probably taste better.

Not... that... bad. Pours clear yellow fizz. Sweet lime nose with a little tequila. Refreshing light lime taste. Corny and some tequila-like artificial flavors. The lime is more candy-flavored than real. It got sickening after I had more than one, but this is truly not awful.

My Tequiza koozie is destined to become a sought after hipster vintage collectable!

OK, an obvious failed attempt to cut into Corona's market share. Yellow beer. No head, lace. Aroma, not horrible, even get a little agave sweetness.

Taste, eh, unique? The agave doesn't taste as much as it smelled, but other than that, its pretty much just Corona with all kinds of less desireable adjunct flavor (or lack thereof). No hops. Pass.

This is definitely a mood beer...you have to be in the mood for it.
Pours a light golden macro clear with a macro style 1/2 head of large bubbles that disappears quickly. It is definitely preferable out of the bottle.
Aroma is non-hop, slightly sweet with a mixture of malt and tequila scents. A little skunkie.
Taste is Mexican beer sweet with a slight skunkiness and the unusual addition of blue agave. I don't notice any lime by itself.
Thirst quenching on a hot, hot day.
This is a beer that is best served camoflagued....in the bottle, with a wedge of lime and a little salt on the rim or dusted with the little packages of lime salt they give you with it. It's for you if you are in the mood for a corona and tequila shooters....otherwise, don't bother. Definitely a novelty, but still....

I have to give AB some credit for the originality and marketing of this one. They introduced it at the height of the small-batch/boutique tequila and agave craze. Unfortunately, it just doesn't taste that good. It's not really a beer, but it's not a sweet malt-based "cooler" either. Instead it walks some odd, untread path. There are no flaws to it, per se, but it just doesn't seem to work real well. It pours a crystal clear light straw body with a thin lid of bright white foam that quickly receeds to a wide collar and leaves only minor lacing. The nose displays lime and agave over a sweet malt base. It's interesting, and very reminiscent of a margarita. It's surprisingly dextrinous and medium bodied with a fine, gently crisp carbonation that enlivens the tastebuds. The lime appears first as a flash across the palate before stepping aside to let the sweetish malt and agave flavor come through. It finishes drying and the lime returns again along with some dull, residual sweet malt. It's initially an interesting beer, but it doesn't have much to offer in the way of drinkability. Personally, I'd rather have a tequila or a Marguerita, because this is so far from what I expect from a beer that malt and hops aren't even a question after having tasted it. It may make it as a fair thirst quencher at a BBQ as it does pair well with spicy shrimp skewers, but it's not the kind of beer that you walk into a bar and order. But what the hell, try one out of curiosity... I did.

This was something of a novelty when it first came out. I enjoyed the first beer but subsequent beers I enjoyed less and less. It did have a tequila aftertaste, probably artificial but the uniqueness wore off quickly.

International BeerFlys beware: A-B has apparently been franchising this dreaded concoction. I found it in St. Petersburg, brewed and labels as a Tinkoff beer. Same color scheme on the label, except for the Tinkoff name and the word "Tequiza" rendered phonetically in Cyrillic. This Russian version does have a distinctly lime and agave note. But there’s still just no real reason for it to exist. Just buy a damn margarita. Interesting that the beer appears on their original Russian website, but when you switch to the English version, it’s gone.

Tequiza sounded good in theory.

Lightest possible yellow hue without being clear, minimal head, no lace. The aroma was like Sprite with extra limes added to it… nothing that resembled beer, too odd to be inviting. Ditto on the taste. It is shockingly harsh on the palate, the over carbonation did not help. This is a gimmick beer that has survived far too long. Even at $1.09 for a single 12 oz. bottle I got ripped off.

Move along, move along… this isn’t the beer you’re looking for

Born on date of November 7th 2008. Poured from a clear 12 ounce bottle into a pint glass.

Appearance: A hard pour produced only a one finger white head. Clear golden yellow. Despite the head dropping to nothing I still had a little bit of lacing.

Smell: The only thing in the aroma is limes. Very sweet and candy-like.

Taste: Not that bad. Not as bad as other reviews will have you believe at least. Very sweet with a lime flavor.

Mouthfeel: Substantial mouthfeel for being an A-B product. Much more to it than the wateriness that is Bud Light Lime or Miller Chill.

Open a Corona, slip a lime in the top... and then pour a half-cup of sugar down the neck. Bright, clear yellow in the glass (and in the bottle too); lime in the nose. Sweet lime in the taste. More body and flavor than your typical lime beer (e.g., light beer with lime that is now so popular). But that doesn't say much.

I can't say I tried this with an open mind. I figured it would be bad, and tried it to see how bad it was. It wasn't good, but, to my surprise, it was drinkable. I'm not sure I would call this a beer. It falls more in the "flavored malt beverage" category with Zima. Unless you're really into shooting tequilla and chasing it with a cheap Mexican beer, don't waste your money.

The beer after escaping the 12-ounce bottle sets in the glass a pallid yellow with a modest frothy white head and after its decomposition, the left over lace forms a thin sheet upon the glass. Nose is malt dominated, sweet and clean, the start is sweet and the grain profile light, top is thin as they come. Finish is strikingly acidic, the hops mild but pleasant, aftertaste dry, can’t believe people actually like this beer, no accounting for some peoples lack of taste.

It smells very sweet with lime and vegetable tones. It has a pale gold colored body that forms a decent head and lace. I was very surprised about that. It has a very strong lime taste. The mouthfeel is very light and fizzy. Overall, drinkability it is a party beer and a beer for the non beer drinker but an alright malternative.

Appearance: Clear medium golden color with a fairly large snow-white head, which vanishes in seconds. Profuse streams of carbonation rise to the surface, but leave no foam to mark their passage.

Aroma: Aroma of lemon and lime with a lingering sweet fruit note, rather like a citrus soda.

Taste: Begins with a sweet lemony note, which segues to a minor bitterness. Towards the finish there is a brief interlude of sweet fruitiness that is disturbingly reminiscent of the Fruit Loops cereal I ate as a small child. Finishes with an odd aftertaste.

Mouth feel: Quite thin and watery, similar to a carbonated mineral water.

Drinkability/notes: Rather too much like the accursed genre of malternatives. I find little to recommend in this beer.

Okay, in A-B's defense there is a market for this beer, but it is not me. This is *not* a beer for beer drinkers it is a beer for someone who wants alcoholic lime soda. It pours clear yellow the white head fades immediately. Zero lacing. The smell is not bad if a lime(Fruit / Vegetable Beer) is what you were looking for. It smelled a bit like a Margarita. Unfortunately it did not taste like a margarita. It was sweet and dextrinous and seemed very artificial. Limited malt character and no noticeable hops. The beer completely fell apart in the mouth with no substantial body. It was more like seltzer water. The finish is mildly dry with a lingering agave Tequila taste but not quite right. As for drinkability, if you can get past the fact, that you could make this with a splash of tequila lime syrup and seltzer, I guess its drinkable, but why would you. If I just had spicy Mexican food and this was the only thing available to cool off my mouth sure, it it not that bad. But I won't go out of my way to get it again.

Hope this is helpful.

Poured from a 12oz bottle into a US tumbler pint glass.

A: The beer is a very pale yellow color with a thin white head that fades quickly and leaves very little lace on the glass.

S: The aroma is of sweet lime and that’s about it. There’s a little something that smells like soap, which I assume is the blue agave nectar that is listed on the beer’s label. I really couldn’t pick up much else other than that.

T: Much like the smell, the taste is very fruity and sweet with the flavors of lime & blue agave. The malt character is very light and there’s very little hops presence. The after-taste is slightly sweet.

M: Crisp and a little smooth, very light body, medium-to-heavy carbonation, finish is a little slick.

D: A little tasty, goes down easy, not filling at all, it’s not a bad drink, but loosely passes for a beer in any regard. It seems more like a malternative to me.

Pours bright straw yellow with a thin head that immediately drops to a wisp. All of two dots of lacing stick. Typical macro appearance.

The smell is of lime and a plastic-like fake cheap taquila-like aroma. I suppose that that's what they were going for, but it's not very pleasant. If I wanted a margarita, that's what I would drink - and I can enjoy one - but, where's the "beer" part?

The taste is sweet - lime and blue agave. Even there, there is something "arificial" about it. And, again, where's the "beer" - at least a little in back? Nope. And, again, I suppose that's what they were going for - but, too artificial and no "beer" anywhere.

The feel is light and fizzy, with a plastic-ish lime hanging on for too long.

On a hot day, the first half was almost interesting, but it became annoying and almost intolerable because of the sweetness that was relentless. Seems like a malt beverage that was margarita-like. Does this really belong in the beer category?--

Had to try this, just because of the agave nectar. Keep in mind that I expected this to be bad.

Appearance... clear, pale yellow, fizzy like soda, a half finger head that dissipated incredibly fast. No lacing or rim.

Aroma... well, I read it in a prior review, but I had to smell it myself to believe it. Sprite soda. To a T. Amazing. Not good amazing, not bad amazing, just kinda wierd. Not a beer smell.

Not a beer taste either. Like soda water with lime essence... the sugar-free kind. There's alcohol in this crap???

Mouthfeel of water. Drinkability... I'll give it an extra 0.5 simple because it's not Crazy Ed's chili beer.

Lets see, neon yellow urine appearance with a fizzy head that is quickly decapitated. The smell is that of old socks soaking in Tequila, with a hint of citrus. Now, the taste, that brings back memories. Memories of sitting at the breakfast table with soggy fruitloops. Oh boy, can't wait for more. Went down rather smooth though, and I gave it some credit for that. Bottom line: Don't Buy It.

Ok I had to take this as a challenge...Heard so much bad about this "beer", I just had to try it out..bought one 12 ozer.
when it first pours there is a head..then in seconds it almost completelly dissapears..leaving the beverage looking like yellowish seltza water.
It doesnt really taste much like beer at all...way to sweet and limey..and feels like seltza water on the tongue..
Feels like a lime soda on the mouth..
but as i had just finished working out..this was actually quite drinkable..just not beer I am afraid.
Wont buy it again however..club soda is just as refreshing ice cold .
