Pours a cloudy, deep brown coloration with a small, fizzy head that instantly fades to nothing. Smells of bready malt and a distinct, salty pretzel aroma. Taste is a decent balance of doughy, bready, slightly caramelly malts and some salty pretzel and orange peel notes, as well as just a hint of herbal hops, nuts and spice. Finishes with a light bitterness and some salty pretzels lingering in the aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.
I didn't have high expectations of this and they were pretty much met. It's a gimmicky, artificially flavored beer, but it's also my final style tick here on BA, so I'm very happy with it. I will say that the aroma is quite amazing here, smelling just like fresh-baked, salty pretzels, although that aroma is much less distinct on the tongue, manifesting mainly as a salty aftertaste. This would probably be a good thing if there was much other flavor to this that could be easily overpowered by the artificial flavoring, but there really isn't a lot there apart from some bready, caramel malts and hints of orange peel, with a very vague nuttiness and spiciness as well. Still, this went down easy and was enjoyable enough at the end of the day.

Pour is a light brown color. Has an almost amber tinge in that muddy brown water color. One finger of crackling off white head dropping into the beer at a quick pace.
Smell is kind of like a pretzel and kind of like a dark brown bread. Fresh bread smell for sure. Just the slightest hint of salt in the background of the nose.
Taste is kind of a slightly sweet pretzel. Definitely getting like a malty taste of bread. Slightly sweet on the taste. Almost like someone dropped one malted milk ball into a huge vat of this beer.
Mouth feel is light medium with a wet finish.
I was looking for more pretzel. It is in there but that bread thing seems to sharing center stage with the pretzel. That tinge of sweet is an interesting addition. A small amount of disappointment on my part. I thought this would be like sticking my face into a bag of pretzels. More like a bag of bread mixed with pretzels. And a good fresh baked doughy dark bread at that. Than there is that little tiny drop of a malted milk ball. Interesting for sure. Not bad. Just something I see as a one six pack and done. Share with the wife and maybe give some to our friends. Well cheers to all!

From a fresh sixtel keg. Tapped and first (unpressurized) pour was weak, from low pressure in the keg. When I pressurized it, it came out nice, not foamy, but the head quickly dissipated down to a thin layer - barely there at all. But not flat, just not much head, still an okay bubbly mouth feel. Smells like a county fair near the popcorn and cotton candy booths! Nice brown color, a little hazy, not crystal clear. Taste is sweet and malty, nice for what it is. You could call it a dessert beer, but it's definitely drinkable otherwise - before and with dinner. I just have one spigot on my kegerator, so I probably would not buy another keg of it. If I had three, I might.
PS: Had a few last night, noted same aroma in my pee as in the beer. Has me wondering about the health factor and their possible use of diacetyl (artificial or natural) flavoring, which I would prefer to do without. Dropped the rating a little for this issue.

A bit of a gimmick beer but dang it’s so good. Tastes and smells like a movie theater. Reminds me of college, I wish I was drinking this back then. It will be a yearly staple from here on out
Edit: look only beer snobs give this lower than a 90 it’s the best finish your night beer of all time. Sure you had your old Rasputin, followed that up with Elysian pumpkin. Look, after that you need something to keep you drunk enough where your not breaking into cars, but not following asleep either. This is that beer, I just wish it was year round.

3/27/22 12oz bottle from Washington Beer store
Pours a thin beautiful, clear, dark golden.
Leah and i smelled it differently. Leah gets movie popcorn. I get Auntie Anne's pretzel at the local mall.
Taste is salt upfront, bready, buttery and we can get the pretzel taste.
Overall we enjoyed this for what it is, a twister pretzel wheat ale!

I like the bottle label artwork, great use of color. The pour is mahogany colored. The taste is buttery & salty pretzel with some orange. Cheers! B-
