Poured from a 12oz can into a US tumbler pint glass.

A: The beer is a light yellow color, with a thin white head that fades quickly and leaves a very thin lace on the glass.

S: The aroma contains adjuncts, very light malts and a very faint bit of hops.

T: The taste starts out a light malt and adjunct sweetness followed by a mildly bready grain flavor. There isn't much of a hops presence at all. The after-taste is slightly sweet.

M: Crisp and a little smooth, light body, medium carbonation, finish is clean.

D: Not very flavorful even for the style, goes down easily and not too filling since there isn't a lot to the beer, very mild kick, it's poundable because of its lack of substance, but overall it's not a very good beer.

Presentation: 12 oz light silver can with a "Born On Date" on the bottom of the can. 110 calories for a light beer.

Appearance: Pale oh so pale yellow, perhaps the palest beer of them all. Thank the beer gods cause there is a head, thin as paper but there is a head.

Smell: Odd cooked grain and cereal aroma, a bit of dirt in the nose also ... not earth but dirt, perhaps the metallic aroma from the can and the cooked veggie smell?

Taste: Thin body, thin malt. Crisp with a tonic like carbonation and a scarcely smooth mouth feel. Extremely faint malt flavour, cereal grains are more noticeable. Hops are nearly negligible and the only reason they even are present in the flavour threshold is that there is barely any malt flavour. On the dry side with a weird thin flash of sweetness that seems forced. The after taste consists of pretty much nothing except a very faded grain and corn taste.

Notes: Where's the beer? Light beers are light beers but this is on the verge of not even being beer.

Natural Light, just walk down Grant or McClaine in Morgantown and you will see this beer just about every place you look it seems unescapable down here. Well, my roomate had a party over the weekend and he offered me a leftover beer. According to him this beer isn't bad, and that he doesn't mind it well it appears a fizzy yellow not gold yellow with a quickly dissipating white head leaving drops of lace around the glass with each sip. The aroma has a very adjunct ridden aroma but it is almost bearable due to some detectable sweetness. I don't think this beer has any hops in it, when it comes down to it this beer is carbonated water flavored with "beer". If they sold a beer flavoring this would be it very dumbed down in flavor, aroma, and appearance designed for one thing mass consumption. It's not horrible tasting just there is nothing here worth tasting so, I guess for ten bucks a case this continues to be my peers drink of choice. The mouthfeel is seltza water definitely a poorly made beer that I could never have the urge for, and why drink a ton of this stuff all it will leave you is a bad hangover and a bloated stomach. Pass on the shitty beer if your trying to get drunk and grab a bottle of liquor some Jagermeister treats me much better than a case of Natty.

A - Poured ice cold into a Bud light nonic. Ivory white dishsoap head with transparent straw colored liquid. Leaves generous smatterings of lace when poured vigorously

S - Odors of fermented white rice, and light bitter odors - not sure if they are hops

M - watery, mildly carbonated, gentle oily texture, somewhat salty.

T - Minimal 'beer' flavor-a generous rice like flavor + metallic off taste. Bitter at times, but not from hops. A light taste that practically vanished as soon as the liquid passed through my mouth.

D - A sad attempt to pass off yellow liquid with rice syrup as a beer.. Adjuncts overtake all other flavors and no real offensive or actual taste is really detected at all.

The beer pours a pale straw color with a 1/2" white head that quickly fades to spotty lacing. The aroma is average. It has a faint pilsner malt scent along with barely any hops and a dry finish. The taste is below average. It's obviously loaded with adjuncts and only has enough malt for a pale coloring and a faint malt flavor. It goes down quick and easy with a dry finish. It's crisp and clean with little beer flavor. The mouthfeel is average . It's a low bodied beer with good carbonation. This is a adjunct laden light lager. It's nothing I'd revisit soon, but it does the trick for people who drink macro lagers and are looking for a lighter choice.

From 07/26/14 notes. Poured from a 12 oz. can into a pint glass because why not.

a - Pours a clear bright yellow color with two inches of bright white head and moderate carbonation evident. Doesn't look great.

s - Smells of corn, wheat, grains, and bready malts. Not good but not as bad as you'd expect.

t - Tastes of corn, wheat, pale malts, grains, bready malts, sweet corn, and metal. Much worse than the nose.

m - Light body and low to moderate carbonation, watery feel to it.

o - Overall not very good but not skunky as least. Not the worst adjunct or light beer out there, though not good at all.

Pours very light straw yellow with a fizzy head that disappears as soon as the pour is finished. Quick, overwhelming carbonation makes it look like light straw-colored soda-water. Its clarity is second to clear, cool water....

The smell is of...of...of...ok - struggling - but...some slight husk ... and... uh... dirty water...

This is lamer than tonic water - There is the ever so small hint of anything approaching beer. But, it vanishes upon swallowing. On the can it says "smooth taste"...Does "smooth" have a "taste", per se? Oh well - I would have given the taste a lower score, however it's rather "clean" if that is what you're going for...

Probably the most watery beer I ever had - at least it doesn't leave a bad aftertaste...ugghhh...

One's enough...I like beer - this is barely (if at all) a beer...This is like tonic water with a light splash of alcohol...with the faintest of adjuncts...

Whatever. Earlier this summer, I was sitting at the pool and someone saw me drinking a Genesee Red. He said he would trade me with one of what he was drinking - I "fell" for it - I put this into the cooler to rate at a different time. He gulped it down (straight from the can), commented on how "heavy" it was ... Some people are just stuck in macro-land...For those people - this one - well...tastes smooth (?) ....

Tallboy can,

A: Pours a transparent yellow with a fizzy white head with poor retention, very light soapy lace.

S: Carbonic acid, mild mild grain notes.

T: When I first had this I remarked it's the first beer I ever had that didn't taste like anything. 5 years later it still doesn't. Seltzer water is the main flavour profile, with a infinitesimally small note of malt flavour. Not off-putting, just nothing there.

M: Very light-bodied, forced carbonation, like soda water.

D: It claims to be a pilsner on the label, so I will review it as such. Boring and insipid. I can see why folks go for this just trying to get a buzz; it's so innocuous because it's basically alcoholic seltzer water.

CANtastic! Yet another opportunity to review a CANned beer!

I got a finger of fluffy, bone-white head that slowly fell to wisps. Nose had a cereal quality along with a light lager sweetness. Just one more among many. Color was a light golden-yellow with NE-quality clarity. Mouthfeel was watery thin with a mild sweetness on the tongue. Finish was thin, lightly dry, generally underwhelming. Why bother?

Pours a very pale yellow color with a fizzy white head that immediately fades. No lacing.

Funky(not in a good way) aroma with lots of grain and an odd metallic presence. Lots of corn and stale hops along with very faint malt.

Flavor is identical to the aroma. Very thin and watered down with an odd metallic flavor along with sweet, grainy corn, stale hops and pale malt. Very unpleasant and even though it is very light and watery, I'm still having a hard time choking it down.

This beer is absolutely awful and doesn't have one positive quality. One of the worst beers I've ever had.

A: Pours a crystal clear pale yellow in color with moderate to heavy amounts of active visible carbonation streaming from the bottom of the glass and some very faint lemon yellow highlights. The beer has a three finger tall foamy bright white head that reduces to a thin film covering the entire surface of the beer and a medium thick ring at the edges of the glass. Very light amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Light aromas of grainy malts with moderate amounts of corn adjuncts and just a hint of sweetness.

T: Upfront there is a light to moderate flavor of corn adjuncts and grainy malts with just a hint of grassy hops. Light amounts of bitterness that fades rather quickly.

M: Very light bodied with heavy amounts of carbonation. Crisp but watery.

O: This beer is very easy to drink and is refreshing but is not really interesting enough to want to have another. This would be a good beer for drinking on the beach, especially out of the 24 oz. can.

Welcome everyone to the College Light Invitational! In this meet, four watered down beers meet their match to decide which one of these budget light beer should be the choice at frat parties. Natty Light, High Life Light, Keystone Light, and cheap import Tecate Light represent the pool in this competition. Natty Light leads it off...

Oh and one other thing, the gimmick for the College Light Invite involves a seperate 7 ounce glass. Why you ask? I'm going to take shots of each beer in that glass to guesstimate each ones "chuggability" (similar to the "buzzability" in the College Invite a few months ago). I'm going to time each shot from each beer, and if it doesn't come out of my mouth, it will get a score from 1 to 5. With that said, let me pop the top of Natty Light and let's get the college party started:

I couldn't tell if this was beer or watery ginger ale at first. I must be the first consumer of Natty Light in months to pour his sample into a clear glass. A sizeable head rises from the clear, colorless body, and crackles slowly within seconds. Smell is extremely vague, a touch of sweet corn, and that's it. The taste, as expected, is very watery. Odd fermented corn flavor exists in this one too, just like in the more lethal Natty Ice. It blankets on the palate for too long, making it very unpleasant. Wow, I'm having second thought about taking a long 7 ounce shot of this, it's hard enough to keep a straight face after each sip.

Now I will attempt to chug this vile liquid from the 7 ounce glass. Ok, here goes... run away! I spat it out when I tried. So you guess it, Natty Light's chuggability rating receives a N/A, incomplete. Funny, I couldn't even get buzzed off Natty Ice because it was so awful, I couldn't finish it, which also received an incomplete in the College Invite. I guess apples don't fall far from the tree.

Natty Light has sunk my experience on BA to new lows. After this experience, I had to break out a bottle of EKU 28 to ease the pain. So will Miller High Life Light be enough to erase the bad memory from tonight? Find out tomorrow night, the second part of the College Light Invitational.

Pours a standard Macrobrew yellow, a bit darker than most lights.

Smell is sweet with some grain smells.

Taste is not much, a little sweet, and that is about all.

Mouthfeel is water.

Drinkable, there is nothing offensive or endearing about this brew at all.

Poured into pint glass

Pours a half finger of white fizzy head that doesn't last very long. No lace either. Color is an extremely clear light straw yellow. I am having a hard time determining if this is beer or not...

Aroma: Grain and metallic flavors. Very bland. I get some notes of pickles as well.

Taste: Wow, this is horrible stuff. Grain and bland malts. This is worse than boring, it is disgusting.

Mouthfeel: Crisp and dry. Very sticky. Lots of carbonation with an obvious light body. Ends dry and sticky... ugh....

Overall, I am glad I am in college and have an excuse to even try this beer... it is down right nasty. I doubt I will ever buy or drink this again. Light and drinkable, but not for me.

Pours a yellow color, some carbonation, little fizzy white head, with some minimal sticky lacing left behind. The nose is slightly malty, very little hop note. The taste is malty, slight hop note. Light Body, not much going on here. Not Drinkable, would not buy again.
