I want to point out I only tried this because a friend who works for AB got her free case allotment to hand out for people to try
Pours a light, faint yellow with impossibly white head, that is a little sparkly. The head fades to nothing but does lace the glass.
The smell takes a while to find. Its very faint, but if you concentrate, its there- and utterly unpleasant; what the hell IS that smell? A somewhat sour, musty smell. No good at all, no sir.
The taste is a relief after smelling this stuff. It has the bud character to it. I dunno, beechwood? It is supposed to have more bitterness in it, but its still very low bitterness overall with hardly any sweetness. It does have a somewhat pleasant, but light, grain taste to it. But hop flavor? No not, really. The finish is smooth. Actually, when I swallow it, I taste nothing. Its amazing. The AB research team has found a way to perfectly replicate the taste of the air in my mouth.
Mouthfeel has a little smooth slickness to it. Engineered to be a bit above dry, but no fullness really.
As for drinkability, well, like all their beers this one goes down easy with little effort on my part. It is crisp and refreshing.
Overall, just another macro brew. It is easy enough to drink while painting the garage, Im sure, and inoffensive when theres nothing better. But I doubt Ill buy this stuff. I'd pick regular Bud over this (well, if only given two choices).
