Appearance: Clear deep copper color, with a small white head, scattered lacing, slight carbonation.
Aroma: Deep aroma of wood, bourbon, and caramel, vanilla, and slight toasted malts.
Taste: Opens with rich notes of vanilla and wood, these carry throughout the taste and beyond. There is a mild caramel malt presence, as well. Late in the taste, bourbon notes appear. The vanilla notes seem quite authentic, without the chemical notes of artificial vanilla.
Mouth feel: A bit thin, with zesty carbonation.
Drinkability/notes: Its hard to believe that this beer is made by Anheuser-Busch. This beer is not flawless, the mouth feel is a bit thin, and the vanilla notes tend to overpower the other characteristics, but, nonetheless, quite well done. I hope this beer is available for the holiday season of 2007.
