Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a pint glass.
Appearance: Pours a crystal-clear reddish-brown, with two fingers of off-white head that subsided fairly quickly. Virtually no lacing. Beautiful color, though.
Smell: Sweet malts, caramel, a hint of vanilla. Very mild.
Taste: Vanilla is the dominant flavor. It starts off nice and mellow, and actually sweetens a little in the aftertaste. The overall flavor is fairly watered down. I don't really get any bourbon or oak notes. Maybe a hint of bourbon, but not much.
Mouthfeel: A little too highly carbonated.
Drinkability: Honestly, I enjoyed this. The flavor is simple, and mostly vanilla, but unlike a lot of vanilla-flavored beers, it doesn't taste artificial or cloying. It was very easy to drink. It's not something I would drink on a regular basis, but it's a decent six pack to pick up for a change of pace.
