Pours a tawny brown with a rosy hue with a medium off-white head. Aroma is light malt and a trace of vanilla, rather unmemorable.
Taste is malty sweet with an oily vanilla flavor. Light spices, a bit of a bitter burnt flavor. Mouthfeel is light, clean, a little watery. Overall, unbalanced and almost cloying.
From the label: "Aged on bourbon oak casks"? "All-imported hops"? None found here. "Madagascar vanilla beans"? Blech. Anything having to do with a cask serving? Dream on. A disapointment all around.
Born-on date of 13 Oct 06, but why bother.
