Which of these unusual styles is better for me: Light Ice, Non-Alcoholic, or Malt-Liquor? Well, I'm going to find out in this tri-meet which I've dubbed the "High-Low Invitation" (based off the wide range of ABV). Bud Ice Light is the first contestant of this threesome, and we're set to get this underway:
This time around, I'm going to drink this beer straight from its uniquely shaped bottle cuz I don't think it's worthy of a glass. Because the bottle is clear, you have a lifeless, very pale looking yellow. It does develop a decent head in the bottle though, making up for lost ground. The smell is clean, with the typical array of adjunct-like fumes. Taste starts with nothing, then it hits with lighly flavored corn, which makes way for a rush of rice in the finish. Only a crisp mouthfeel and a passable drinkability keep the beer in the bottle and not in the kitchen sink early on. But towards the end of the bottle, I got bored with it and tossed it. Not as bad as I thought, but nothing to get excited about other than owining a long name for a beer.
We'll see if this score beats that of its oppenents in the High-Low Invitation. Coors Non-Alcoholic coming up later.
