Another brew from the Michelob Specialty Ales & Lagers 20-pack. 12 oz., "born on" 8/15/06, and served in a weizen glass. It pours an opaque peach/apricot after a lot (a LOT) of agitation to extract every last bit of yeast. It settles to a finger of off-white head that leaves little lacing and it is so opaque it is hard to judge the amount of carbonation. It smells of tangy wheat, banana pudding, and spicy yeast - very authentic. It is light on the palate with a tingly body and tastes of bananas, spicy cloves, green/spicy, almost grassy hops, and a spicy yeast background, all of which combine to leave a medium finish. Again, quite authentic. This is another great surprise from A-B and goes to show that, if they put their mind to it, they can make high-quality brews. Beers like this and their new porter let us know that they have acknowledged the microbrew revolution and don't want to be left behind. I would like to see six-packs of both of those, without a doubt the two best beers I've had from Anheuser-Busch.
