An unfiltered amber wheat ale with a slight caramel sweetness and refreshing citrus note. Brewed with Cascade and Willamette hops from the Pacific Northwest and Hallertau hops from Southern Germany, Hop Hound certainly lives up to its name. The amber hue results from the blend of caramel, wheat and pale barley malts.

Presentation:
12 oz brown long-neck bottle poured into an American pint glass. No freshness/bottling date. A weird dog on the label that seems to be checking me out...

Visual:
Poured a majority of it into the glass, creating a massive head. Swirled the last little bit into the glass to create a pillowy off-white head. Hazy orange body with a few copper highlights. No lacing. Head leaves quicker than expected.

Aroma:
Hmm, for being a "Hop Hound", I'm not sure where my hops are. There is definitely plenty of malt here, slightly biscuity, but mostly unfiltered wheat (go figure). Some fruit notes of banana, pineapple, orange, and white grapes are complimented by soft spices such as cloves and cinnamon.

Taste:
Biscuity and sweet malts, with notes of caramel, rock candy, and mandarin orange. Yeasty off flavors seem to peak through the fruity palate. Very little hops to comment on, other than a slight sourness in the back of the mouth. Minimal carbonation offers little to the watery mouthfeel and medium body.

Overall:
Reminds me of a mix between a barleywine (without the high ABV) and a Belgian wheat. Much more fruit and malt than hops. Definitely an amber wheat ale, but I could use some more hops since, well, that's kinda what they promised.
Not my most favorite brew, but very tasty next to a good ol' fashioned burger and fries.
Would also pair greatly with marmalade, chicken, orange glazed halibut, and any kind of heavy cheese.
