A - This one is murky and dank looking, and the color is very much the same as the label. That is to say, this is an amber-peach hue that looks really nice in the glass. The head is initially about two and half fingers in my imperial pint glass, but retention leaves something to be desired.
S - Super malty. Carrot cake, caramel, and vanilla taffy. Where do they get off calling this "Hop Hound" when its very clearly a malt bomb? In a blind smelling test, I would have guessed that this is an Oktoberfest malt-focused lager. This actually smells pretty good, but I can't pick up any hops.
T - Ugh. This is not so good. What smells nicely sweet and malty in the nose comes off as artificial and cloying on the tongue: like cheap Halloween candy. There are unpleasant chemical notes that add to the "fake" feeling, and what is being passed off as hoppiness is actually a sour, acidic, and acrid feeling on the back of the tongue that is more akin to a lemonhead than a hop leaf.
M - Light bodied and uber-carbonated. This is like sweet Jone's Soda pop or something. Super-super sweet and WAY to fizzy.
D - I got five of these from my neighbor. Apparently he didn't care for it either and decided to pawn the rest off on the neighborhood beer geek. Well, this is definitely better than a drain pour, so I will drink them eventually. Could be a halfway decent lawnmower beer, but I wouldn't buy this for myself.
