Last year I thought this one was awful, with a name that implies a stronger hops presence. And though they've kept the name, this year I found myself enjoying this much more. It's a nicely clouded golden ale, featuring a balanced blend of Northwest hops and sweet malts. It's an appealing combination with hints of citrus and caramel notes, but not as bitter or biting as the name suggests. Hop Hound is easygoing, and not too complex, but more than drinkable. A nice starting point for the inexperienced beer drinker.
