Pours out to a cloudy light amber forming a tall white head with excellent retention and nice lacing. Medium carbonation. The aroma is quite nice actually...orange and coriander, with a very light pale malt, wheat and rice background, some faint spicy hops, and an exceptional clean ferment. The mouthfeel is crisp and clean with a very light body. The taste is quite good. Orange and coriander with very mild bitterness. Exceptionally drinkable....slam-able even.

I actually really enjoyed this beer. I think it's a perfect thirst quencher, very light, tasty and clean. I don't care that it's not complex. It's not supposed to be. I could see myself drinking a pitcher of this stuff. Recommended.

This is a very good light beer. Especially for fans of wheat beers who are planning to be standing at the end of the night or are watching their caloric intake.

A - Very good. Just what it should be. Hazy copper with a 3/4" head that fades to a nice skim and leaves some lace as you go.

S - Fresh and citrus. Light and refreshing.

T - Light, but very good for what it is intended to be. A light beer with some flavor and character.

M - Smooth and pleasant. Carbonation is just right.

D - Awesome. Had six of these last night over the course of three hours while watching Favre and the Vikings pound the Packers. Got up at the end of the game and felt great. The residual yeast in the bottle also helps your body metabolize the alcohol out of your system so woke up feeling great as well.

Overall this is a very nice light beer. I will definitely have some around for the times when I want a decent beer but don't want to be too aggressive with the booze.

Tried this beer for the first time at a bar. Wasn't sure what to expect from another AB bud light extension.

A: Poured into a glass this beer had a nice golden color, cloudy from being unfiltered, with a healthy white foam that slowly settled to provide lacing on the glass. Impressed. It looks good.

S: Aroma of citrus (orange peel) and spice with slight wheat character.

T: Slightly sweet with a well rounded light bitterness, trace citrus tartness, clean finish that is slightly drying. It makes you want to take another sip.

M: This is definitely a light beer. Keeping that in mind I was satisfied with the body. For 118 calories there is a lot of taste.

D: I could definitely drink 6 of these in one sitting. This is a session beer, not for a sipper.

Overall I was very impressed with this offering from AB. For a mainstream product this could definitely convert some "macro" drinkers to enjoy heavier crafts. If I was in the mood to drink 10 beers in a night (which I do on occasion), this would definitely be in the line-up.

bought for 5.99 cant go wrong new here we go
poured into standard pint glass
A: pours copper orange hazy hugh with a fasti dissipating large bubbly head
S: lots or corriander and orange come through maybe little bit of wheat malt but not much not bad smell though
T: not bad stats off little bit of orange than strong corriander taste and finishes like budlight with a lingering wheaty taste not bad for A.B. though
M: besides the taste the mouthfeel is the same as regular budlight very watery and carbinated
D: this is good for the macro and unique cause i can pound alot of these and not get full and thats why im going to get these instead of regular budlight

Ah, I knew beer snobs would fall all over themselves to slam this beer. We all need to be open minded. This is a well crafted beer. Light but a little tangy. Subtle and tastefully done. I'll bet the quality control at A-B beats any microbrew, so you can count on every one tasting the same.

I might be nice to get a stonger flavor, but they hit a very good balance between hops, malt, citrus, etc. This is a very good light beer. Recommended. Good breakfast beer (tailgating).

Poured into a pint glass. The color is orange and the taste is sweet. The coriander balances the fruit flavors well and keeps the malt from allowing the flavor from being too sweet. The only criticism I have is that the carbonation was lacking; for a light beer like this I would expect strong carbonation. That said, for a macro brew & a light-beer: this beer is disappointingly delicious.

Appearance - This is a beautiful golden wheat in color with a nice head that actually showed some good retention. Best Bud I've seen to date.

Smell - There's an ample wheat aroma here. It's not like a weizen but also not like that nasty American pale wheat ale crap that seems to be all the rage lately. It's raw but very smooth with just a hint of that famous Bud sweetness at the end.

Taste - This has a hearty flavor for a light beer. The wheat is full and again smoothed out like you'd find in a casked ale. I really don't get any spice or even herb flavors but this is good nevertheless.

Mouthfeel - I really enjoyed this aspect of the beer. It's big-bodied for a light beer, not quite medium but hearty for sure. It is incredibly smooth in the cheeks with a modest but velvety carbonation.

Drinkability - This is a great light beer for a cool night. It drinks amazingly well. It's not a hot day thirst-quencher like say the regular Bud Light but more of an easy sipping ale and definitely a good one to pop open when your non-craft beer friends come over.

I have never really had a desire to try this, but I saw it on tap at a bar, and gave it a shot. The appearance was not too shabby. A nice little head of foam that stuck around for a while, and a pretty orange-ish color. I took my first sip and was stunned, "is this really a bud light brand?" After not caring too much for Bud Light Lime, I wasn't sure what to expect. I had no idea that it would offer the orange/citrus flavor. The golden wheat name and bottle do not really hint at these flavors. I think it tastes great and I plan to keep some in my fridge at all times. The flavor actually reminded me of another AB product, that being Shock Top. It smelled fresh and went down smooth.

A - Translucent orange body with a 1/2 inch thick head that lasts for a while before fading to a ring.

S - Citrus, some sweet spice notes.

T - Very crisp and mild. More hops than malt.

M - A good amount of carbonation, not watery like other light beers.

D - This one has a bit more density than other light beers. Still, very drinkable.

If I had a choice of any light beers, I would probably choose this one.

The other reviews are all dead on. To sum, it is a very good product compared to bud light....has some flavor and a little bite at least....It's not a very good beer but for it's category of macro brew, it's better than normal Bud Light...

The A+ for it is that my girlfriend will drink it....She hates beer....so if you are in the same boat as me, try feeding her some of this one...even if you feel like like less of a man in the check out line with this one...

Poured into a pint glass.

A: Pours a hazy amber color. Nice two finger width head that fades before too long, leaving behind pretty minimal lacing.

S: A pleasant grainy scent with hints of citrus and coriander with hints of wheat.

T: Very similar to the scent. Flavors of grain and wheat with citrus. A nice hint of spice as well. Pretty similar to Blue Moon.

M: Light body. Pretty moderate carbonation.

D: This is an easy one to drink. A step above Bud Light.

Pretty good choice. Better than what I was expecting.

This beer is unique to wheat beers I have tasted before. While a slight level below the average, it is better than expected from a Bud Light line. Maybe this is the benefit we have been waiting for after the sale to IBEV. NO visible lacing on the glass but a nice head. Something I wasn't expecting from a Bud Light. The smell is close to that of Blue Moon. I enjoy this beer compared to availability in a small town and pricing due to it mot being a craft or import. Maybe this beer will broaden the horizon of beer drinkers with a previously narrow mind. After all, isn't that our final goal!

I am impressed.

if you gotta go bud- golden wheat is the way to go. it is clearly a knockoff of bluemoon. i love wheat beers, i was surprised to see bud come out with a beer that has a unique taste(for bud) such as this. all in all i dont mind the golden wheat at all. i mean im not gonna be knockin anyone over to get to this, but im not gonna kick it out of bed either. its a ok effort from a big box.

Probably the best light beer I have had...118 calories is pushing it for a light but right in the mich light area if I remember right.

This tastes like a lighter version of Blue Moon...but not a whole lot lighter...nice aroma of coriander and orange peel...maybe a little vaniilla...taste is actually right along the lines of a whit beer but a little lighter...not much though....body is fine...light but not watery...kind of creamy texture....

This would be a great summer beer....low in ABV....has a nice white beer flavor...I bet i could drink a ton of these in the heat.

If this was Microbrewery XYZ White Light and only available in select parts of the country it would rate much higher than it is...bottom line...this is a good light beer.

Pours out a gold hazy brew, white 2 finger head.Fairly high carbonation. Sweet smells with spices. Mild taste, semi sweet, spices linger slightly at the end. of course its a dumbed down model of a wheat beer, but its enjoyable as a light brew.Mouthfeel= nothing special. Drinkablity is good. Ive seen this beer in bars recently and without a broad choice of beer, i wouldnt hesitate to order one.

Appearance - Pours a hazy golden color with a centimeter thick, white head that dissipates instantly. Leaves a nice lacing.

Smell - Coriander is most dominant. Along with citrus, wheat, and a funky bitter smell.

Taste - The flavor is actually very light, like watered down.. Citrus, wheat, coriander, grains, and bread. Has a slight bitterness in the finish.

Mouthfeel - Light bodied with medium carbonation. It's very crisp.

Overall - I wasn't expecting much at first but this turned out being a very drinkable brew.

Well, not much I can say about this new Bud Light Golden Wheat just that it is a lighter knock-off of Michelob's Shock Top...
Same aroma of coriander/citrus with a slight less dense appearance...
Poured in a beer glass with one finger head that dissipated rather quickly...
Taste did not dissapoint but if you really care for the full flavor, stick with Blue Moon or Shock Top...
I see myself drinking this brew from time to time if I am on a budget... Good job Bud Light

An interesting move by A-B. And they've used the "Bud" name with it, so they must be pretty sure of it. They know that Blue Moon is doing well, so I guess this makes sense. But the name "Golden Wheat" doesn't imply that it's a kind of Belgian-style witbier - which I guess is brilliant too, in that people who might be scared to try anything "Belgian" will probably not be afraid of "wheat".

As to the flavor, well that's actually quite smart too - just the yeast character lends it flavor, so no extra malt (and the calories that come with is) is needed.

But how to judge this beer? As a Beglain-style witbier? No, I don't think so. If anything, it's almost a new beer style in itself. So, "herbed/spiced beer", I can agree with that. That's a pretty open category though.

Basically, it looks pretty good. Head retention and lacing could be better, but it is a light beer. And it smells OK. The taste is decent, keeping in mind that it is a light beer (118 calories); and there's nothing objectionable about it. It's got a good mouthfeel for a light beer; and although it's not great, it is pretty drinkable, and it's got enough character to it that you're not immediately bored with it. I'll drink Bud Light with Lime over Coors Light at the ballpark any day, so why not this? I've still got 4 more bottles to go out of my first 6-pack, so I'll add a little more to this later on.

A - Translucent sunburst with a nice, though quickly dissapating, snowy 2 finger head. Somewhat heavy carbonation. Practally no lacing.

S - Subdued. Though, Citrus and coriander come through the stongest.

T - Very good- which is so odd for me to say for this brand. In fact, I'm actually surprised by the quality of this beer. For the most part, I dispise macro brews, but this one is well done. Nothing tastes synthetic. It is very simplistic. This light wheat style brew is what it says- and, given it's cost, it delivers. Minus the clove and bananna bomb of course.

M - Clean, crisp, and dry. This is a very neat brew, with little aftertaste.

D - Amazing drinkability. The alcohol content on this one is quite low though.

To sum up, there are alot of negative reviews on this brew. To a certain degree, I can empathise with the disdain other advocates display regarding an offering such as this. However, I must judge this offering on what it is, not what it appears to be, nor to gain the acceptance of my collegues. My apologies.

Lets cut to the chase. Forget the politics; this isn't Duvel folks. Its not supposed to be and it isn't trying to be. Its not in the same catagory, nor is it in the same leauge. Therefore, one must judge this beer on its own merit. For what it is, this is not in any way, shape, or form a bad beer. Additionaly, if you factor in the price, this one is right on the money. Its not an A beer. Its not really even a B beer. However, it is a drinkable beer and probaly the one of the best of the cheaper macro brews.

Poured from a 12oz bottle into a pilesner glass.

A - Poured a cloudy golden color with a slight orange hue. The pour produced a thin head of white foam that quickly dissipated. Not much in the way of lacing.

S - Not too bad. It difinately has the Bud Light aroma, but you can also detect the spices (corriander and citrus).

T - Slightly sweet macro taste (after all, it is a Bud light). A decent blend of spices really enhance the flavor and drinkability. This beer reminded me of a lighter version of Sam Adams' Summer Brew.

MF&D - Light bodied with decent carbonation. I was a little suprised with this beer. I wasn't expecting much, but it was actually pretty drinkable. The low ABV makes this one a pounder.

Poured from a 12oz. bottle into a pint glass. Hazy and amber appearance. Nice 1/2 inch head that quickly disappeared. Citrus orange aroma. Fizzy mouthfeel with good carbonation. Pretty dry but more flavor than i had expected. No real bitterness. My wife LOVED it when she had a sip. Not a bad offering. I'd put this in the same boat with blue moon. I think I've averaged a couple per year since it was released.
