Tasted like a shock top that had the orange removed. It tastes like a plain, crappy wheat beer. Sort of like they mixed it with a regular bud.

Would not revisit. (162 characters)

I remember when this beer came out on the market. It was a non filtered wheat beer bud Anheuser Busch. It was a light brown in color. Not a bad taste. It was something different than the every day bud light or Budweiser. It is a shame they do not brew this beer anymore. This beer was an easy drinking drak light beer. I also remember you had to roll the bottle because beer had stuff floating in the bottom. Overall I gave this beer a 3 (437 characters)

I cannot review this beer anymore because it is no longer brewed. This was one of my favorites when I drank more macrobrews, but I am sure I would not rate it this high now. I will keep this rating, though, since I did like it at some point, and it got me into better beers. (274 characters)

Appearance - Pours a hazy golden color with a centimeter thick, white head that dissipates instantly. Leaves a nice lacing.

Smell - Coriander is most dominant. Along with citrus, wheat, and a funky bitter smell.

Taste - The flavor is actually very light, like watered down.. Citrus, wheat, coriander, grains, and bread. Has a slight bitterness in the finish.

Mouthfeel - Light bodied with medium carbonation. It's very crisp.

Overall - I wasn't expecting much at first but this turned out being a very drinkable brew. (521 characters)

This pours a hazy orange color. There's a minimal finger of off-white head, but doesn't stick around. I'm surprised and pleased that they didn't filter this, and for a Bud Light wheat, I think it looks good.

Aroma is a faint wheaty aroma, with a touch of citrus and spices. Again, it's nothing great, but for what it is, it's decent.

Same goes for the taste. It's not great, but there's a subtle wheat, citrus and spiciness.

It's light bodied, but there's something there in terms of substance.

Naturally, this is bottom of the barrel in terms of wheat beers, but for a Bud Light, it's completely doable. I can't say I like this, but it's better than you'd think, and it's nice knowing that if I find myself at a place that only does BMC, I have something that I wouldn't mind being forced to quaff. (807 characters)

A. Pours out a golden yellow hue with a thin white head that quickly disappears leaving no retention and very little lacing.
S. A faint citrus, and wheat smell.
T. The taste starts out with a citrus taste with hints of coriander followed by some bread, yeast and grains to finish the taste.
M. The mouthfeel is very thin and too watery, but still crisp, clean and refreshing.
O. A decent tasting beer and made quite well for a light beer. (439 characters)

A more refreshing beer than Bud Light and more flavor than Budweiser, but just because it's better doesn't mean it's good.

No, this isn't a craft beer so it shouldn't be held to that standard, but regardless there isn't much to this beer other than being refreshing. (268 characters)

A- Poured a translucent golden, orange color. A tiny head that is gone very quickly. No lacing. Only slightly hazy for a wheat beer.

S- Smell is very faint of a wheat beer. Mostly wheat grain aromas and slight fruit undertones. No hop aromas.

T- Not bad. Good wheat and citrus notes. Maybe a slight hint of coriander in there. Not very complex, but solid flavor profile of existing notes.

M- A little better than Bud Light. Still watery, but not as bad. As the folks at AB would say, very high in "drinkability."

Overall, I was pleasantly surprised with AB's attempt at a decent wheat beer. It competes with Shock Top fairly evenly. (636 characters)

Poured into a pint glass.

It's a hazy gold hue with a whtite head hat goes away too quickly, but leaves a nice lace.

It smells sweet, citrus. Very faint smell.

It tastes of wheat and citrus, has a bit of bittering hops. Pretty light on flavors.

It's got a thin feel and crisp carbonation.

Overall, This is better than bud light, but not as good as a lot of other wheat/white ales. (385 characters)

12oz bottle poured into a Duvel snifter. No date.

Appearance - Visible sediment in bottle. Cloudy light amber body. Thin white head.

Smell - Wheat. Orange, and lots of it.

Taste - Thin watery and musky body. Thin orange sweetness. Is not recognizably wheat-ish.

Mouthfeel - Thin. Watery. Slight acidity from the citrus.

Overall Drinkability - The Bud Light of wheat beers. 'Nuff said? Maybe not. In other words, this beer is easy to drink, unchallenging, but not exactly offensive. (486 characters)

The only beer budweiser served that didn't taste like shit. It was all that I could get at the hockey game. I had to drink it out of a paper or plastic cup. I tell you some vendors have no respect for beer. However, the taste was not bitter and refreshing. It had a decent flavor. Mild.

As for music to complement this brew, I suggest ABBA or some disco shit like that. Gettin' caught drinkin' bud is like doing the ugly girl cuz your so horny and your roommate walks in.

I can't remember if they poured the beer from a tap, bottle or can. i doubt it matters. (563 characters)

This brew poured out as a very lightly hazy golden color with a thin white head on top. The smell of the beer gives off some bright citrus aromas along with a hint of the wheat in there too. The taste of the beer is watered down, but has elements of the fruits and wheat in there. The mouthfeel is thin. Overall this isn't something I'd ever buy. I tried it because it was free. (378 characters)

Bud Light Golden Wheat has a very, thick, pillowy cream-colored head and a cloudy, golden appearance with brown yeast chunks floating about. Little lacing is left on the glass. The aroma is of a slight banana whiff and water. Taste is of white wheat bread, a touch of citrus, and a tad of hop bitterness, with a whole lot of water. Mouthfeel is light and watery, and Bud Light Golden Wheat finishes crisp, clean, refreshing, easy-drinking, and, unfortunately, a bit dull. Overall, this is a high-average beer.

Poured into a pint glass.

A: Pours a hazy amber color. Nice two finger width head that fades before too long, leaving behind pretty minimal lacing.

S: A pleasant grainy scent with hints of citrus and coriander with hints of wheat.

T: Very similar to the scent. Flavors of grain and wheat with citrus. A nice hint of spice as well. Pretty similar to Blue Moon.

M: Light body. Pretty moderate carbonation.

D: This is an easy one to drink. A step above Bud Light.

Pretty good choice. Better than what I was expecting. (523 characters)

12oz bottle into tasting glass. Open beer, open mind...

A: With a gentle roll as directed, the body holds a slight haze, which is light orange, a very pale straw color. The one finger head is fed by a heavy level of carbonation and have fairly good retention.

S: The aroma is light and has a faint note of clove and orange. The aroma is overall on the weak side. Very artificial elements.

T/M: The body is a bit low in carbonation levels and is quick off the palate. The wheat element is found but very subtle. Coriander is shown, but again low in flavor intensity. A light beer by taste, but not balanced with fuller flavors as to promote sessioning. Lingering taste has that classic Bud Lightish finish that is very much like washing down water.

O: Overall, I think that this beer is not all that bad, for a light wheat, it does represent the light character in the flavor profile. This could be doing a good thing for craft beer, as Macro drinkers could find this as a gateway into other wheat styles and from there in to the realm of experimental drinking. (1,065 characters)

to tlel you the truth, this is my favorite of the products that have the name "Bud" or "Budweiser" in their name. This is one in the recent fad of more trendy flavored beers. AB is trying to be craft without actually having to make the financial commitment to making excellence. Which is why this beer is far better than most AB products, but its still not better than mediocre to slightly decent. It has a high drinkability, but its not the type of drinkability that I respect; the type where you drink it because it assembles a complex variety of flavors that carmelize into something unique. It is drinkable because it takes few risks, because taking those risks is something that AB cannot do because they make beer for the non-connoisseur.

Smell: Generic, unrisky notes of citrus and coriander. I expect way more risk from a spiced wheat beer. It should take over my head.

Taste: Cordiander is fairly obvious and its the feature of the body of this beer. It complements the citrus flavors, but that seems to be about it. You can't expect much more from a company like AB. High/moderate carbonation.

Overall: Eh...its a Bud Light with some improvements. Its still much better than almost any of the other AB products, but I think if you're a beer connoisseur than you aren't wasting your time or your money on something like this. The only time I would ever drink this again is if it were around at a party or if I needed some beer that would not offend anyone but to where I could still have the slightest bit of substance to my beer. (1,543 characters)

Pours amber with a tall white head that leaves rather quickly. Some spotty lacing. Smell is quite nice citrus and grains. Taste is a bit of a surprise. Some spicy wheat, citrus, and a bit of bitterness on the finish. Mouthfeel is good for a light beer. As long as this beer is served very cold and consumed fairly soon it is quite good on a hot day. As it warms you can begin to detect the Bud Light underneath the special flavors. Unfortunately this beer will probably not please regular BL drinkers and craft drinkers will avoid it. A good choice when options are limited or for those required to reduce their alcohol consumption. (632 characters)

I have never really had a desire to try this, but I saw it on tap at a bar, and gave it a shot. The appearance was not too shabby. A nice little head of foam that stuck around for a while, and a pretty orange-ish color. I took my first sip and was stunned, "is this really a bud light brand?" After not caring too much for Bud Light Lime, I wasn't sure what to expect. I had no idea that it would offer the orange/citrus flavor. The golden wheat name and bottle do not really hint at these flavors. I think it tastes great and I plan to keep some in my fridge at all times. The flavor actually reminded me of another AB product, that being Shock Top. It smelled fresh and went down smooth. (689 characters)

I was originally surprised that AB would offer a version of Bud Light made with "golden wheat" and be flavored with coriander and citrus peels. It seemed to me that they were trying to make a version of Bud Light that would somewhat appeal to more craft beer drinkers. Then it occurred to me that with beers like Blue Moon straddling the line between craft and macro, Anheuser Busch was probably just trying to play their hand into getting into that type of market.

Bud Light Golden Wheat pours a nice golden color with a decent foam head that lasts for around 2 minutes. The aroma was light and originally I was not detected much, but the light aroma contained some generic wheat and citrus notes, and actually was a bit musty too. The beer felt thin on the palette, and had a high/moderate amount of carbonation. After taking a few sips, there was no mistaking that this was still indeed a light beer. The overall flavor was a generic grainy taste, with some light orange-like citrus notes. There is a reasonable amount of bitterness in the finish, but I wonder how much of that can be attributed to the coriander instead of the hops. The light bitterness and grainy flavors linger on in the aftertaste and there is no alcoholic warmth.

This is far more interesting than the beer it was spun-off from. It is a refreshing beer, and is good for the dog days of summer. If made into a full flavored beer I could see it working as a decent American hefeweizen or wit type brew, but I have to subtract points because it is very much dumbed down for the light beer drinking crowd. (1,578 characters)

Better than most light beers, but not as good as the Wheat beers I have had in the past.

Considering this is a Bud Light product, it is actually pretty good.

It has a slightly hazy orange color. The head faded away to nothing very quickly and left no lacing.

Not much of a smell, I had a hard time smelling anything.

For a light beer, it has a little flavor. Some orange comes through.

It is lightly carbonated, and has a watery mouthfeel.

I just had another one of these and need to re-evaluate my review.

This is one damn refreshing brew. Goes great with spicey food. I know there are better beers out there than this, but what a step up from the regular Bud Light. (681 characters)

A lot better than just Bud light but still lacking the rest of the competition for this style of product. The mouthfeel was a bit on the refreshing side but not the smoothest wheat beer Ive had. The taste was only a small hint of orange. The apperance was a golden wheat in color with a quick releasing head and no real lacing. (327 characters)

You know how tv dinner meatloaf kinda tastes like meatloaf...well this don't even really kinda taste like a wit...

I dunno maybe it ain't supposed to but...dang if it ain't refreshing on a hot day though...

It's got a fake chemical citrus taste or something...I dunno...I should have never expected this to be anything like a wit and I might maybe could have understood it better...

I'd rather have Shock Top over this beer any day...

That said it is purty! Refreshing! Light! And not much else... (501 characters)

All right, had a bottle left over from a BBQ at my place. Lets see how this goes...

A: Pours a transparent golden/orange color. At first a two finger white head forms and recedes in a second. Some very light lace is left behind.
S: Not bad at all, actually. Lots of honey sweetness up front. Some earthy wheat aromas. Grassy as well.
A: Follows the nose. Lots of sweetness. Honey and sugar. A bit of sourness as well. One dimensional, but not bad.
M/D: This is the bad part. Just way to thin, watery and even under carbonated. Not hard to drink at all. An easy quaffing outdoor beer.

Give this a little more body and some more carbonation, and this will be a decent beer. Nothing wrong with this as a good summer beer, and kind of surprised me. Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of other wheat beers that blow this away, but at least as good as Blue Moon. (861 characters)

12oz bottle, no freshness dating.

Pours a light copper color with bone-white head which dissipates to a fairly residual lacing on the glass.

Scent composed mostly of a faint wheat and sweet orange citrus aroma.

Flavor is a weak wheat with coriander spice. There is a very, very mild sweet citrus in the background before everything completely fades to oblivion.

Body is thin and watery, nothing I would expect from a quality wit/wheat beer.

Purchased as a single on a whim, I wanted to like this AB offering going in. It did not exceed my already lowered expectations. (573 characters)
