I've put down lots of Budweiser over the last few years when I've been with friends at parties and dive bars. This sample is from a bottle I stole from a party last week, and now drinking in the comfort of my home. On to the beer:
Into a stange it goes, the beer is a very pale straw color. Big soapy head sits on top of it. Run of the mill head retention. The aroma is simple. A snap of sour green apple. Very clean nose.
This beer is taken from the "less is more" apporach to making macro lagers. There's a little flavor to make you keep drinking it, and thankfully it's not spit out awful. Green apple flavor is the most noticable note. A trace of grain towards the end makes me think of Frito's corn chips for some reason. It is crisp and clean and light in the mouth. A touch too light with a touch more carbonation than prefered.
Very easy to drink, though I'll admit my taste buds begin to get bored after 3 or 4. Not nasty like some adjunct lagers, and it's a good "warm up" beer...in fact, I have a Black Butte XXI waiting in the wings.

12 oz. bottle poured into pilsner
L: straw, very pale yellow, crystal clear; about 2/3-inch white foam head, a little sticking and lacing
S: grain ... a hint of barley sweetness; watered-down lemon; hint of bread malt sweetness
T: very kolsch-like ... some barley malt sweetness, not bready or like biscuits but still sweet, with the slightest taste of earthy/pepper hops. not bitter. loads and loads of grain taste, no corn (obviously) but lots of cereal grain
F: surprisingly full and not just from over-carbonation -- it's not overly watery
O: i'm shocked, but this isn't half bad, and it's better than a handful of craft beers I've had in the kolsch/blonde ale category. there's next to no hop presence, so it doesn't compare well to pilseners, but octoberfests and dortmunder lagers, yeah ... it's similar to those. everything tastewise is pretty muted, but it has just enough sweetness to it to offer some character.
when in doubt and stuck with the typical BMC offerings, this is a no-brainer. adjunct lagers are thought of as swill, but this is MUCH MUCH better than the BMC "light beer".

Not outstanding but not terrible. Definitely not the King of Beers as the slogan says. It's pretty average. Light in coloring, easy to drink, maybe a bit on the watery side. Definitely not the best I've ever tasted but not the worst either. I would drink it at say, a football game.
