Ah, Budweiser... I swear the only reasons I continue to drink it are the nostalgia factor and the fact that it's $0.99 for a tall can at some of the lower-end Reno casinos I sometimes frequent. Or in today's case, given to me for free to take home after a wedding reception yesterday.
Poured into a glass, it has enough pale straw color to look like a beer. It gets a thin head when and bubbles up when poured. Beer does that.
The aroma is more of a memory-jogger than something I actually want to smell. It smells like a lot of the cooler parts of my younger days. It smells like the sprint car races. It smells like barbecues. It smells like garage jam sessions. It smells like a day at the river. But it doesn't smell particularly good. The rice is there. Some skunky notes. A little grassiness. Smells like cheap beer, basically. I'm getting bean funk, too - ever leave a pot of refried beans on the stove overnight, then wash the pot the next day? There's a touch of that awful smell way down there. It's not so bad that I won't drink it. But I try not to think about it.
The taste is on the sweet side but not cloyingly so. The faintest hint of hops for like a split second. A note a little like wet cardboard. No real finish to speak of, it just kind of goes down. Once again, more of a memory jogger than a sought-out sensory experience. I will say, it actually tastes right with the type of food I'm apt to eat in situations where Bud is my drink of choice. Meat franks? Check. Over-charred hamburgers with yellow mustard? Check. Bad pizza? Check. Cigarettes? Check. Tastes kind of like the feeling of not giving a shit.
The mouthfeel is straight up thin and watery. Not as watery as Bud Light, but pretty damn watery.
I'll drink it if it's cheap, free, or the only thing available. If there's Pabst, I'm going with the Blue Ribbon 100% of the time. Or the High Life if that's what's around. But I'll gladly throw back these free Buds with nary a qualm today and accept the resulting buzz.

This being the first beer I have tried and this being the first review I have done, I'm not sure if you'll take me seriously. But here's a simple review.
The appearance is great. I put this in my Hofbrauhaus liter beer mug. Every time, it has a nice yellow, almost gold color to it. Nice frothy head depending on which temperature you serve it. When looking into the beer, the bubbles on top remind me of grease bubbles from chicken broth.
The smell of the beer is pretty poor. Smells like a mixture of alcohol and.piss. But people don't go to bars to 'smell' the beer.
The taste of it is fairly good. Its balanced and has a taste that is not too overpowering. Its not bitter like some of the beers I have drank in the past. I don't think they use a lot of hops. Crisp taste, but then goes to a light alcohol burn after that. But its not too bad.
This beer feels watered down a little. This isn't a beer for the most experienced beer drinkers in the world... Its easy to drink, which is why I like it. Its smooth, and makes you want to drink more.
Overall, this is a beer for people to start out on, or people that aren't ready for too much of a bold taste. This beer is not bold, but its not lacking in flavor either! Pretty much anyone can drink it, and that's why its considered the king of beers.

Everyone need to try a Budweiser even if it is only once. This is not as bad as some make it out to be. It is what it is and that is an American macro brewed beer. It is not much different than many of the retro brews that have gain popularity. I have done a few blind taste test against some of the other more favorable adjunct lagers and I found Budweiser actually taste better than the other macro brews. The beer has a soft water feel in the mouth. It finishes with a crisp little aftertaste.
