even when i was a macro guy, i stayed away from Budweiser. why? i don't know. i think mostly it is the ugly red can that annoys me. this was left at my house after an epic beer pong party
Budweiser pours a yellow color that wants to be vibrant. the head is foamy, fizzy. i can hear the foam for few minutes after pouring.
the smell is of very faint sweetness, almost floral. and then, nothing. not nothing as in there is no smell. it's there. it just doesn't have a discernable character.
the taste is very sweet. it really just tastes like a plain lager with a nonexistent hop profile.
from what i have gathered from their choice of ingredients and beechwood aging is that a tasteless, inoffensive lager is the goal. it does this very effectively. it is difficult to write a review for a beer that is intentionally flavorless. but then again, what can really be said about Bud that hasn't already been covered by the 1000+ reviews?
the mouthfeel is what you would expect. watery, carbonated.
drinkability? this review is the product of four or five big sips. im glad it didn't take more than that. i'll have a Torpedo now, por favor!
