I came late to my historical society's annual square dance last night and my next stop, after greeting friends and the caterer, was the beer. My first thoughts in the shadows of our great barn was that it was Bud, then as the shadows moved...oh, no...okay, deal with it...it was Busch.
It poured a very foamy head with little body that disappeared quickly as I tilted the solo cup inwards. I tasted the foam and then the rest of it and I noted how much lighter it was than Bud. The strange light taste had a little hops to it and a little Grape Nuts flavor too. Then nothing (as expected) came forward....
I had a another thought that this beer actually might be better served with spicy hot chinese food and dumplings, where the food is primary, though a bottle of Tsing Tsao would be my first choice.

Poured from a 16 ounce can purchased for a buck at the local quick mart.
A: Pale, clear yellow with almost no head.
S: Mild with some cereals. No real hop characteristics.
T: Very bland, not much going on. It is refreshing though.
M: Very watery. A certain crispness from the carbonation.
O: Unimpressive. There are better versions of this style. There are also worse ones.

This is a surprisingly refreshing beer, no it doesn't have much of a strong flavor and it does go down easy. It does remind me of a mountain stream, its really smooth and the almost over carbonation gives it a little extra "pop" thats relaxing. I like it better than big sister Budweiser. Sure its far from great, its really mediocre and a decent choice if you're tight on money. Its also not bad to drink all day while fishing. Its a cheap beer, its drinkable cold and quickly.

I grew up seeing the Busch Beer commercials and never really drank until I was in my mid twenties, fearing that it would be a bad beer. I was really surprised how easy and drinkable Bucsh Beer is and the lack of hangover it produced. It pours light golden, with average carbonation, and a light head. It has a ricey, malty taste, with hints of wheat and sweetness. There is a little edge, with an average aftertaste, and it is not very filling. It's not the worst beer, but not the best beer either, good for when your working out in the hot sun...
