Busch and Busch Light are both brewed with a blend of premium American-grown and imported hops and a combination of malt and corn to provide a pleasant balanced flavor. Additionally, Busch Light undergoes a longer brewing process that produces a lighter body and fewer calories.

look: 3 | smell: 3 | taste: 3.5 | feel: 3.25 | overall: 3.25

Appearance
Thick head with large bubbles. The head dissipates quickly. Poor lacing. Straw yellow body. Moderate carbonation.

Smell
Mild corn. Very faint barley.

Taste
Corn dominant. Smooth. Yeasty, fruity beer. One of the better cheap, corn dominant, adjunct lagers. Tastes good ice cold. The flavor sours as the beer warms up.

Mouthfeel
On the heavier side of light bodied. Smooth. Corn flavor lingers. No hop bitterness.

Overall
A good beer for chugging ice cold. A good fishing beer. Not as good as Rolling Rock. (519 characters)

My ratings are high because I'm rating the old Busch Formula not this new/old formula Busch Bavarian junk.

The old Busch was great and had a nice bitter bite at the end. It went down smoothly and was well worth the price.

Busch Bavarian is a good cheap beer to reach for when you only have a few bucks and want a good buzz or at the lake (341 characters)

Poured from 12 oz can into schooner glass Appearance: pours a sudsy white head that recedes rapidly with very little lacing. Color is pale straw with abundant carbonation.
Aroma: mild aroma of corn and lightly toasted barley
Mouthfeel: light, watery, and crisp with a quite dry finish.
Flavor: again a mild combination of corn sweetness, sweet barley malt, and some grassiness. Overall: not offensive and not a bad beer for the price range. (443 characters)

Poured from a 16 ounce can purchased for a buck at the local quick mart.

A: Pale, clear yellow with almost no head.

S: Mild with some cereals. No real hop characteristics. Some alcohol.

T: Very bland, not much going on. It is refreshing though.

M: Very watery. A certain crispness from the carbonation.

O: Unimpressive. There are better versions of this style. There are also worse ones. (392 characters)

This is a surprisingly refreshing beer, no it doesn't have much of a strong flavor and it does go down easy. It does remind me of a mountain stream, its really smooth and the almost over carbonation gives it a little extra "pop" thats relaxing. I like it better than big sister Budweiser. Sure its far from great, its really mediocre and a decent choice if you're tight on money. Its also not bad to drink all day while fishing. Its a cheap beer, its drinkable cold and quickly. (478 characters)

I grew up seeing the Busch Beer commercials and never really drank until I was in my mid twenties, fearing that it would be a bad beer. I was really surprised how easy and drinkable Bucsh Beer is and the lack of hangover it produced. It pours light golden, with average carbonation, and a light head. It has a ricey, malty taste, with hints of wheat and sweetness. There is a little edge, with an average aftertaste, and it is not very filling. It's not the worst beer, but not the best beer either, good for when your working out in the hot sun... (548 characters)

Come on guys. Who comes onto beer advocate and rates Busch? This is my go-to 'frat house'. It is beer for the masses that makes you massive. Drink it all the time cuz you' only got a dime. Would you rather drink this puss beer that had SOME flavor or get something more watery for the same price?

I love me some good craft beers. But after two, it's not worth the price. Save the rest of that Sixer! Don't waste what's great! Put the good beer away put a Busch on your plate!

Or cup, can whatever. You get it. (511 characters)

Served from a pint can into a shaker pint glass. The can has very appealing frosty mountain retro art that is colorful and attractive. A semi-aggressive pour produces about a one inch frothy head with medium staying power (reduces quickly but leaves some lingering, almost continuous lace). The beer is an extra pale straw color with moderately high carbonation.

A light whiff of corn on the nose and some sweet corniness in the taste, along with some pale malt and very light floral hops. The flavor is very light and watery as is the mouthfeel. Overall, a bit bland, even for the style.

This brew is light and refreshing- nothing too much to complain about, but it is rather watery. A decent hot weather brew. The watery taste can be a bit of a shock if you've drank something heavier beforehand, but it is thirst quenching, easy to drink, and can sneak up on you (i.e., a highly efficient alcohol delivery system for someone who can really chug down the suds). This beer is one of my alternative cheap AALs, especially in summer. Something to grab when in you're in a small town without much selection and the price is right. (1,130 characters)

Pours a straw gold with brilliant clarity. A soapy white head that fell fast and no real lace just a few spots. Nose is light corn and light grain. Thin and a only a hint of green apple and some corn sweetness. Hops are floral and light and go a bit grassy as the beer warms. Taste is clean and has only a mild hint of green apple, and DMS. NO diacetyl and this finishes with a bit of grass and hop bitter. No real fruitiness and a crisp carbonation. Balance between malt and hops was practically even and only during warming did the hops emerge. There was a touch of light acidity in the finish and this finished mostly dry but with a touch of sugary taste at the very end. Mouthfeel is thin and pleasant and a bit watery.

It's got less of an apple taste than some other beers I have rated but a thinner body overall. The DMS was in acceptable limits and this beer had only a bit of sourness to creep on to the palate as it warmed.

Style notes - the standard lager can have little to no malt aroma, fast fallihg head, light body from the use of adjunct and DMS is allowed in low levels. The dms did creep on to the palate in sufficient amounts to keep from wanting another one of these. BUT the green apple sweetness was less than some other beers like molson canadian an d even heineken so I teetered between 2.75 and 3.0 for a taste rating. I gave it the lower rating because I do nto want another. (1,405 characters)

Come on people!!! We all love those cold blue mountain peaks that masks the taste of corn-piss beer!!! lol...Seriously, not a bad go to beer. An overall rating of "awful" is a bit strong here. It not all that bad, has alcohol in it, and is great for keeping a buzz going without wasting good beer when you are drunk or approaching being piss-drunk! Yeah, it is not the best, and borderline does suck, but it has its uses...limited, but necessary.

-Pours a big golden yellow with a frothy big, fat, head.

-Smells of fresh mid-west corn farming operation---ahh!!!

-Tastes great if it is nice and cold...as it warms, starts to taste more and more like what I imagine piss would taste like...but focus on cold..just drink it cold and you are ok.

Overall---not all bad... (772 characters)

Comes in a pale clear yellow.

The aroma is grain, corn, a bit of floral.

The flavor has cereal, lots of grain, a bit of floral hops, but mostly just weak straw and grainy flavors. A very watery beer. Not too much corn adjunct flavor. A decent amount of carbonation.

Not very flavorful, but that arguably can be an advantage of the beer. (339 characters)

From the cascading waterfall from a chemical plant drainpipe comes this gem of a brew.

Appearance - Standard urine appearance with lots of carbonation and little to no head retention.

Smell - Something off putting. No idea what I'm smelling. Actually does smell like human urine.

Taste - Actually it doesn't taste very bad at all. Just a tinge of sweetness and a slightly dry finish. Otherwise its pretty much void of all flavor and is just tonic water.

Mouthfeel - watery and fizzy

Overall - Easy to drink. Void of flavor and taste. Just smells bad. Enjoy! (562 characters)

Busch is great classic! Ran in my family for years. Great Taste with Great Price.

It's not everyone's favorite, but it goes great with football food, fishing, hunting, etc. I have grown a taste to it very well. Although, regular Busch is only found in one or two areas here.

Can't go wrong with Busch! (303 characters)

An American adjunct lager brewed here in Canada on license by Labatts. Accepted a generous offer of a can, figuring what the heck, I haven't tried this one and frankly wouldn't go out of my way to do so. Why not capitalize? Perhaps the most translucent beer I have yet to see, almost clear with just the barest hint of pale straw tint. Massively over-carbonated as would be expected, standard fizzy soda water approach to imbibing alcohol that caters to mainstream palates. Hey, it is what it is. Its an affront to good beer but we still live in a world where a preference for mediocrity and playing it safe drive people's decisions. For what its worth, this beer tastes like corn, some stale grainy malt, maybe a little shortbread sweetness, some green grass, but its all buried under bubbles and this brew is outstanding in its major lack of conspicuous flavors. The "longer brewing process" seems to have napalmed all the flavor along with the dreaded calories. I have had adjunct lagers where you can at least taste said adjuncts. I did taste more sweetness and cooked flavors as it warmed up, but alas here's where the cardboard and plastic cutlery notes also emerge. Crisp clean finish is an asset I suppose, although here some grainy alcohol still crashes the party. Really quite fucking awful but the sweet ain't so sweet without the sour, yes? (1,352 characters)

Appearance - Had this in a can.

Smell - You can smell the corn and malts, it has a bit of a floral smell to it.

Taste - Same with the smell, a lot of corn and malts.

Mouthfeel - Its a bit over carbonated.

Overall - This is one of my favorites of the AAL. (258 characters)

look: 3 | smell: 2.75 | taste: 3 | feel: 3 | overall: 3

Appearance: pale yellow, little visible carbonation, short lived head

Smell: Sweet/sour smell of raw, wet malts

Taste: Sweet malts come to the forefront. Very straightforward taste; no complexity. Not offensive, but not something to savor, sort of like having a can of coke in that way.

Mouthfeel: Thicker than water, but thin in body and sparse in carbonation

Overall: 3/5 or 60/100 is "okay," and that's how I'd rate this beer. It tastes of cheap beer, and that's what it is. Not something you would sip and enjoy, but something that's fine at quenching your thirst on a hot day, or giving you a buzz after knocking back a few. (633 characters)

It's cheap; I bought a 36 pack of cans for $22. Which is neat, but you obviously sacrifice quality. It seems like they just made a beer flavored extract, mixed it with carbonated water and called it alcoholic. It tastes like a light beer with all the calories of regular. I would probably have to drink 6 to feel it and actually enjoy it. All in all what did i expect from Anheiser Busch? (388 characters)

Poured into a shaker pint glass. Pours a pale golden amber with a thin white head that dissipates to a ring around the glass with slippery lacing. Mild aroma of sweet malt. Flavor of fleeting light sweet malt with a hint of grassy hops, finishing light and watery. Light bodied. A bland, uninteresting waving of hands beers. I'm very fortunate to have gotten this in a can that declares "Busch Classic" and "Limited Edition", so I'm not one of the suckers that bought the regular version of this gem, I got a special can. A very, very mediocre attempt at brewing, but no off flavors and enough light sweet malt to make an adequate lunch beverage. (646 characters)

Poured from a 24oz can into a glass mug. First time drinking it.

A- Golden yellow. Lots of bubbles streaming up. One finger head that fizzles away quickly. No lacing.

S- Slight corn, malts, fresh water. Not offensive.

T- Malts up front, corn, no hops or bitterness. It tastes kind of like a super light malt liquor. Clean.

M- Lots of prickly carbonation. Slightly watery, but has more of a body to it. Leaves a slick feeling in the mouth.

Drinkability- Easy to drink, smooth.

O- Overall, this is a very malty beer. It reminds me of a way better tasting Big Flats 1901 and a light malt liquor. It's good. (609 characters)

MOR adjunct that was one of the 1st Non-Stroh beer's I drank as a youth.
1st tasted after a 10 hour drive from Nowhere Indiana to even more nowhere Missouri.
After the drive the cold Busch, at the time, was the best beer I ever tasted. It was perfect.. now that I'm not 19, don't smoke ,and my taste buds and smell have returned...
Not so perfect.. but a sentimental favourite nonetheless!

Busch Light is everywhere, but Busch? I hadn't seen it at least for a long time, if ever, so I was curious to try it. Bland is the operative word here. Typical pale American lager. Plenty of carbonation but not too much. Little or no aroma. Flavor starts as completely neutral/neuter with a hint of nothingness. A slight malt flavor begins to kick in. It is a pleasant pale malt flavor without a hint of any toasted quality. I wish there was more of it. This flavor fades quickly to more neutral hints of nothingness in the finish. Best consumed very cold on a hot day after strenuous physical exertion. (603 characters)

Type: 12-oz. can
Glass: Firestone restaurant pint glass
From: Cherokee Market Beer & Wine in Normal Heights (San Diego), Calif.
Price: $3.99 for a 6-pack
Purchased: Aug. 23, 2013
Consumed: Aug. 23, 2013
Misc.: Born date of April 19, 2013, which is 126 days from today (the can says the freshest taste is within 110 days)

Poured a golden urine clear color with three fingers of light-white head. Decent amount of bubbles coming up from the bottom. Very little lacing along the sides of the glass. Below average retention.

Smelled caramel, honey, cereal, grass, bread and corn. Not too bad for the style.

Tasted a bit like the nose, but not quite as flavorful. Got honey, some fruits (banana, apple and kiwi), caramel, corn and grass.

Light body. Thin texture. Average-to-soft carbonation. Abrupt finish. Somewhat refreshing.

I have to say, not too bad for the style. One of the better American Adjunct Lagers I’ve had and much better than what I remember from when I was drinking this in high school and college. (1,021 characters)

Born on 01Jul13. Acquired at a local 7-11; I'm stuck in a small town (Richfield) in Utah. 24 fl oz aluminum can with intricate label art served into a styrofoam cup in my hotel room. Expectations are as low as possible given the brewery. Reviewed live.

Served cold. Side-poured gently as overcarbonation is anticipated.

A: Pours a fluffy head of white colour. Light creaminess. Pathetically thin. Body colour is a thin watery clear yellow of no vibrance whatsoever. No yeast particles are visible. No bubble show. Looks awful. Retention is above average - about 3 minutes.

Sm: Clean barley. Straw. Cereals. Grains. Crisp. Watery swill. No hops, yeast, or alcohol are/is detectable. A weak pathetic aroma of light strength. Corn adjunct. Pretty shocked this isn't a light beer, to be honest. It could be more offensive than it is.

T: Weak barley. Cereals. Grainy. Straw. Husks. No hop profile or yeast character whatsoever. Zero depth of flavour. Intensity of flavour couldn't be lower. Flavour duration is low. Watery and imbalanced, but inoffensive. Some corn adjunct. Not getting any complexity or subtlety at all. I don't notice any overt off flavours, so that's a plus. About as bland and boring as a beer can be. Luckily, no alcohol comes through. Meh.

Mf: Smooth and wet. Weak, thin, watery. Poor execution. Suits the flavour profile okay; I mean at least I can get the beer down easily enough. It doesn't have the crisp, biting overcarbonation of even worse beers in the style, but it's overcarbonated.

Dr: Closer to water than any macro I can remember having recently. As such, it's got an above average drinkability in that you could down a pitcher with ease, but the lack of quality makes me not want to get another anytime soon - so that evens it out. Bland swill that hardly resembles real beer, but not offensive or awful. I think some are really attacking this beer just because of the brewery. Pretty poor stuff, but it's not terrible. I'd rather see this at a party than something like Tecate, for example. You could do far worse (or far better) at this price point.

Drank from a 12 fl. oz. can purchased at Downtown Wine & Spirits, Somerville, MA
Born on date: 20Dec12
Served in a pint glass

Impressive appearance. The beer poured a crystal clear, golden yellow and was topped by a tight, frothy, two-finger, bright white crown. The head quickly faded to a lasting ring. A few streaks of patchy lacing stuck along the glass.

The aroma was powdery and dry with distinct lager yeast notes. Lots of husky grains and adjuncts. Touch of pale malts. Overall, quite simplistic. There was a hint of skunkiness as well.

The flavor was subtle yet rather rough. Husky grains and adjunct notes dominated. Not much else happening. A slight bitterness came through on the finish.

The mouthfeel was unimpressive. Light and airy on the palate with a fine and mild carbonation. The liquid felt a touch flat.

"Piss water" is not a term I use to describe many beers, but it fits this one perfectly. While it had no distinctly offensive qualities, I found its complete lack of character offensive. (1,016 characters)

I guess when I review a beer, I'm reviewing it on what kind of beer it is. Example, this is Busch.... it's cheap. I'm not going to give it a 1 or 2 since I'm rating it while comparing it to cheap beers. This beer goes down smooth, has a decent taste, and isn't all that filling. If I'm looking for a relaxing night and I'm counting my pennies, Busch will always be considered. Nice beer, great price. (400 characters)
