*This is my first pumpkin wheat ale, so just keep in mind that I have nothing to really gauge it against.
Poured from bottle to a beer glass.
A: Dark gold color with a little red showing. Head was about a finger's width and disappeared quickly. There was a bit of lacing that also disappeared quickly. Head has an off white color to it.
S: Spices hit the nose first. Cinnamon is pretty prominent. I can also sense the cloves coming through. Can't really pinpoint the nutmeg. Some of the pumpkin comes through, but the spices are much stronger.
T: Again, cinnamon is prominent. The cloves come through on the tongue, but the cinnamon is stronger. The taste that the pumpkin gives the beer is weaker than the aroma it lends to the smell. The spices are the main component of the taste. Again, can't really pinpoint the nutmeg. It's just sort of hanging out in the background.
Mf: The carbonation is pretty light. The beer seems a bit watery. I think the mouthfeel could be improved on. It is the weakest area of this beer.
Overall: Not a horrible beer, but improvements could be made to it. I had this one with a light dinner, and it worked out ok. I probably won't buy this again, but I'd accept one if offered it by a friend.
