As I work in the local beer industry of Long Island, NY, I get to see the marketing behind releases such as this new one from A-B. It amazes me that this latest "flash in the pan" has been thought out to the nth degree with the notes that "Aspiring" and "Trendsetters" attached to it.
When it was poured to my glass, I noted the usual BL bubbles, but the head had creamy look to it, which I took to be a sign of its freshness.
There wasn't much of an aroma until I got the second or third taste, but what did exist was a grain and floral mix,
The taste was interesting for a moment as I thought most BL drinkers would like this light bread, corn, and untraceable elements. As I continued to drink it in search of more redeeming factors, I liked it better than regular BL.
As another attempt by A-B to cash in on another upscale segment of its perceived market, this beer is hardly unique.
It will probably get some mileage in the cities, but like BL Wheat, it will likely disappear into A-B history.
