A: Any paler then this and I'd think you gave me a glass of water. This looks like a 1/4 apple juice mixed with water. Nice white head, very clear.

S: Metallic and adjunct aromas

T: Pur adjunct flavours, no malt.

M: Med-high carbonation, clean on the palate, 6% alcohol not detectable.

O: Not a good lager by any standard, but very good for AB.

It IS slightly less bad than regular bud light; however, the reason for BLP is not for drinking enjoyment, it is to impress random bar skanks and give the impression you're too well off and sophisticated to be drinking regular swill like the commoners. Needs to have "It'll getcha laid" below the bud light logo.

A complimentary sample from the owner of one of my local pubs (which was good, now I don't have to spend money on it). Served in stemless flute. The beer was a VERY pale yellow, clean and clear, I could easily read through the beer. The beer had about 1/2 inch of white head that had no retention or lacing.

The only aroma to come across the nose was a very slight grain scent, no real malt or hop presence. The story on the tongue was much the same, the grain was a bit more prominent, but still no hops showing up.

The body, as expected, was very thin and watery and had a high level of carbonation. The beer was smoothly drinkable, but why would you want to drink several of these? Overall, pretty much you'd expect from this beer. I was surprised to learn that this beer was 6% ABV however. I suspect that Inbev hit their target when they made this brew, but there's really not much for a craft beer lover to like about this offering. I drank it so you don't have to.

Honestly, not a terrible beer. It pours like a bud light. Its pretty bad, but not the worst. Looks like BL. translucent light straw with no head. Shared with George Adams. It smells like light toffee and caramel, but i mean its so subdued that its hard to find.

Honestly, it doesnt taste offensive at first, but it develops into something awful. the extra malt just adds the same malt flavors, but just more of them. Feels light and crisp.

Appearance: Light yellow color with a medium head.

Smell: Has a sour smell with some sugary scents. Very odd smell to me with a mix of random things.

Taste: Has a bitter taste but still tastes watery like a bud light. There are not a ton of very distinguishable tastes that I would consider enjoyable. I was hoping for more from anheuser-busch's more expensive beer.

Overall: Drinkable. I have grown to be a craft beer guy so in terms of macros I was not incredibly surprised that I was not crazy about it. For a light macro its ok. I wont buy it often though.

Appearance: Clear, straw-colored body, crowned by a modest, coarse white head, which dissipates rater quickly. The carbonation is sparse, and fast-rising.

Aroma: Modest aroma of cooked corn and mineral water, and a faint hop presence.

Taste: Begins with cereal and cooked grain, these carry throughout. Modest hop notes appear late in the taste. Finishes dry with a faint metallic bitterness.

Mouth feel: Thin, with somewhat harsh soda-like carbonation.

Drinkability/notes: Rather mediocre, to say the least. It seems like little more than mineral water.

Presentation: Packaged in a standard twelve-ounce cobalt blue long-neck bottle with a twist-off crown, served in a New Belgium Brewing chalice.

Source: Purchased at Wal-Mart in Texas as a selection of a Brewmaster's Choice build-your-own six-pack for $8.99.

12oz, neon blue bottle (it's been done), from some random convenience store on the Big Island; it took up precious luggage space, only because I tried damned near every good beer on the islands whilst there on my honeymoon over the past few weeks.

After the twist and hiss, this beer pours a clear, pale golden straw colour, with one skinny finger of fizzy, loosely foamy white head, which bleeds away at hemophiliac speed, leaving zilch in the manner of lace.

It smells, well it smells of damned near nothing - a void, wherein only the slightest of mineral and fruit ester notes burble to the surface - could be that it's too cold, slave to the marketing that I am. The taste is very sweet breakfast cereal grain, cloying at best, fake-tasting and plastic-like - are there actually aspartame kiddie cereals out there? Very little else comes through, hop or alcohol, or, well, best leave it at that.

The carbonation is zippy, and fairly prickly, but is soon subsumed by the medium-heavy weight (style-wise), palate-coating body, which is smooth, of course, that being the sole successful attribute of this ilk. It finishes like concentrated Bud Light - sweet, quasi-grainy, and soul-reaping.

A weird science experience wrought veritable. Ugh. This is the beer equivalent of that perfect Hollywood, surgically enhanced, personality-deficient starlet. Looks good, has some intangibly attractive trait, and whose attempts at edginess are calculated and cold. Funny, a Nickelback song suddenly came on the cacophony blaring from the bar across the street - ok, no more analogies. Avoid, unless you just want to get trashed, though I can't imagine the hangover possible with this.

12oz. bottle: A friend felt compelled to buy a 6 after the Superbowl and gave me one to try. This one pours a very pale, clear yellow color. There was a good deal of a white head on it, but alas it did not linger or leave any lacing. Light aroma. A bit grainy, maybe some floral but nothing else. Taste is thin and watery. Can taste a touch of an adjunct (corn?) and a hint of sweetness. At 6% you might expect some flavor, but then it wouldn’t be a light beer. It’s just an alcohol delivery device with a big ad campaign.

Bottle into pint glass...not sure why but I at least wanted to give this a try.

A - Pours yellow, fizzy, looks like water.

S - Smells like a grain mill, pond water, and metal.

T - Tastes like a grain mill, pond water, and metal.

M - Light body, fizzy carbonation, drinks like water.

O - Why did I do this? Oh well, at least now I know I won't have to worry about ticking this any longer. Below average light lager.

Weird blue bottle, reminds me of a "malternative" drink. Pours out a very pale yellow color, fizzy.

Wow, smell is sulfuric, acetone and some faint off phenolic aromas. Overall not very pleasant!

The taste is actually a bit better than the smell, a tinge of tart apple, some bready malt aftertastes, but I am trying hard to pick up much, and add some alcohol warming if you want to include that in the taste category.

Mouthfeel is prickly like most american macro beers.

Overall this beer is designed to pack more punch than your average light beer all the while delivering the same llittle flavor. The scientists at AB have successfully done this for those beer drinkers who hate the taste of beer.

Clear straw yellow color with a fizzy white head that doesn't stay around.

The aroma is very light - almost non-existant but vaguely like steamed rice and corn.

The taste is also very light sweet, carbonic, not really malt and hops are almost undetectable.

Very easy to drink - no flavor or body to interfer. Does a good job of washing down barbecue if very cold.

Not sure if this is really beer just diluted alcohol, begs for a twist of lime or something to give it more flavor.

Ocean blue bottle, the one and only. Very few places I could just buy ONE bottle, so let's see how this turns out. Poured into a shaker pint.

From the bottle pours a classic straw yellow, but a real bright gold crystal clear, like a window. Head is fluffly white, snaps with lots of carbonation and falls to a collar very quickly. Slow rising carbonation comes up, mostly cola sized but just a few bubbles. Some appealing and not so appealing characters. I call average.

Nose is rank. A real strange chemical component on this. Dry. Varnishy. Unfortunately not much else. Not a real attractive profile, but for the most part it is also quite closed.

Palate hits with a little bit of expected wetness, but there's some thickness hinting at syrup like body. Corny sweet aftertaste, but also with a little bit of honey. A little bit of noticeable carbonation that seems to make a good cut through the sweetness. Alcohol is quite noticeable on the finish, and this gets quite boozy for even just 6%, somewhat fussel like also. Stomach bomb hot after several sips.

Interesting palate, and almost passable for myself, but just hints at a bit too much sweetness. One and done, I lived.

A: The beer is crystal clear light yellow in color and has a moderate amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a thin head that quickly died down, leaving lacing on the surface and a thin ring of bubbles around the edge of the glass.
S: There are light aromas of Concord grapes in the nose along with some hints of grainy malts.
T: The taste is not very flavorful and has some hints of corn and rice malts.
M: It feels light-bodied and a bit thin on the palate with a moderate to high amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is easy to drink but doesn’t taste much more that slightly flavored water.

A: clear, carbonated and barely straw colored

12 Ounce blue bottle poured into a pint glass

Appearance: Light yellow in color with a white head that disappears really fast

Smell: It has a little bit of an odd, almost hard cider, type smell to it. Being that it is not a hard cider it seems a little strange, but it may be just an alcohol scent more then anything.

Taste: There is an initial taste that is almost alcohol type taste that fades fairly quick leaving little else. There is a little bit of a sweetness that might be described as more of a corn sweetness more then anything.

Note: As far as macro beers go, I actually do like Bud products. I am glad I tried this but it probably would not be something I would get again. If I had a choice between this and Bud Light I would take the regular Bud Light.

Let me start by saying although I'm hard on BMCs I do like to be fair and that includes pointing out when one of their products is marginally better than another of theirs. That being said, Bud Light Platinum is marginally better than Bud Light. The latter is basically water, the Platinum though a pumped up version with more alcohol and such at least has more substance to it.

Poured an 1/8" white foam head but it held a pretty good length of time and didn't seem artificially induced like the bulk mainstream stuff. The body is the standard clear pale straw yellow of BMCs. Same with the smell, the standard sort of grass and corn. And the taste, fairly watery, grass and corn, but a creamier body than the Bud Light, and a slight bitter aftertaste that reminds you it was a beer and not just a cold anything.

A-pours a crystal clear yellow with a white head that has very poor retention.
S- slight sweet aroma, pretty faint
T-not a lot going on in the flavor. Seems more balanced than normal bud light and doesn't have as much form in the flavor
M-light bodied
O- an improvement from bud light, but that's also not saying a lot. Won't seek it out but could drink it if it was available.

Got this as an extra in a trade with youradhere. Thanks Jim! I think...

12oz bottle.

A- Pours a crystal clear light golden color with a sudsy white foam that fizzles away to a ring.

S- There is almost zero aroma to this beer. I think I can pick out a faint grain smell with some seltzer water. Not much else going on.

T- Mostly sweetness in the taste with a touch of rice and cereal grain. Enough alcohol in the finish to notice.

M- Light bodied with moderate carbonation.

O- I've certainly had worse beers but I won't have this one again any time soon. Thanks to my trading partner I won't have to waste money on my own 6pk.

Just imagine Bud Light with 6% ABV instead of just a little over 4.3%. It still pours out a straw color with a fleeting head that goes flat instantly (and in a clean glass). The smell and taste of very neutral with no hops at all. As expected, the mouth feel is thin. My recommendation is that if you want something with 6% ABV from ABI, go with King Cobra as a 24 oz. can of "The King" goes for about half of at double deuce of BLP.

Overall this beer is perfect if you like Bud Light and want to "get lit quick". It's too bad that one of the coolest bottles around has to come filled with this stuff.

Aluminum bottle (if its container is aluminum I review it as a can, even if it does have a bottle cap).
Pours out a clear, yellow liquid. I got a huge mountain of merangue-like head, foam lasted a long time, leaving thin lace strings. A few bubble lines continue up from the bottom of the glass.
Smells a bit like sour grain or other wet cereal.
Taste has some light grain, or other sweetness. Sourish, acidic finish. More alcohol burn than I was expecting, not too overpowering, but still present.
Light bodied, medium carbonation.
Trying to be objective...About what I was expecting - a strong light beer ?!?
