Poured from bottle into pint glass
Appearance – Pours a hazy golden orange color with a billow white head. The head fades leaving a thin persistent film and some nice lacing.
Smell – Very little to be detected here. For an IPA the hop aroma is definitely lacking. A very light piney aroma and possibly the slightest bit of citrus mixed with a little bit of wheaty malt aroma.
Taste – The taste is better than the nose would let on. Initially there is some piney hop flavor mixed in with a bit of wheat bread flavor. The flavor then shifts to a little bit of sweet malt of fruit; a combination of citrus fruit and some brown sugar. At the very end there is a nice citrusy hop flavor which takes hold and leaves a nice aftertaste in the mouth.
Mouthfeel – A medium to slightly above medium, body with a moderate to a bit high, carbonation level. The body is a bit dry, which with the carbonation kind of tingles on the tongue. Quite appropriate of the brew.
Overall- For the price of the brew it really is quite nice. The aroma is definitely lacking but the taste makes up for it. A good session beer; easy to drink and affordable.
